Chapter 5 is my favorite chapter I think.... I’ll report back again later maybe cause it might be recency bias but I don’t think my opinion is very likely to change. So much going on.
Flowery was a maximally potent concentration to me of like. Every emotion. To me, Flowery is > Tenna, and probably even > Queen. The increasing amount of Link’s Awakening references are also very welcome to me. I love every character. Ralsei, Noelle, Kris, and Susie are all so good. I was predicting that Asriel would show up in Chapter 5, but that if he didn’t, he probably won’t show up at all. He didn’t show up in Chapter 5 and I still believe that second part, but I understand why that’s a good choice now. The secret boss is by far my favorite of any of them. The music was very consistently good, and the fan tracks were brilliant and fit right in (I was so excited as a long time fan of Mr. Eiene’s to hear that arrangement ingame). The only big issue I had was the pacing of the Asgore-related lore. But it was more than made up for. For a very long time, I have firmly believed that Deltarune’s strange development and much greater ambition will prevent it from being as good as Undertale as a finished game. The Chapter 5 weird route finally broke that belief. There is no way it will not be better than Undertale to me. Like. Everything about the game that I was worried wouldn’t come together makes sense now. I don’t even know what to do. The fucking. The "staring through glass" line. I might regret saying all this if the finale sucks. But I don’t know what else to say.
By the way my opinion on Suselle is that their happy ending is they date for like 1-2 months max and then break up but remain best friends for the rest of their lives to the point of difficulty finding anyone who wants to be romantically involved with either because it is obvious that any subsequent partner could never be as close as they are to each other.And its really weird and gay
