Tagged by @annabtg! Thank you so much, Anna. I thought this would be an excellent way to kickstart a more involved return to the wonderful July community.
How many WIPs/main WIPs do you have?
Hmm, let's count shall we. I haven't had a look in an awful long time.
The Other Half of the Sky (remaining chapters)
Practical Magic (working title)
The Inconstant Stars (working title)
The Man in the Yellow Boots (working title)
So, 7? There's very likely more than that too, but those are the ones I've flitted between recently.
Which WIP have you done the most on?
Probably The Other Half of the Sky, but that's been part of a very slow stop-start process. A Well-Spoken Woman and A Cat Called September are probably closer to actually being finished.
Which WIP do you dislike the most?
The Other Half of the Sky definitely has the most flaws. Both in terms of what's already out there (can you say waffle?), as well as in terms of the tightness of the plot. That said, some parts of it I absolutely adore — and we haven't even got to those parts yet! I also have a love-hate relationship with Practical Magic, because it sort of wants to become a country house novel, and I just never thought I'd be writing one of those.
Which WIP do you like the most?
I think The Inconstant Stars has the capacity to be really something quite beautiful.
How many of these WIPs have you "stopped working on"?
None of them and all of them at the same time. I think most people would say The Other Half of the Sky though.
If you had to keep working on one WIP, which one?
Hmmm. Well, if I could work out all the kinks and get my mojo back, I'd say The Other Half of the Sky. But, for ease and sanity, maybe A Well-Spoken Woman, because that's almost done really.
Tagging... I have absolutely no idea who's still active. Um, tag yourselves?
