Nova laughs, “True, yeah!” She nods. “...I know it’s wrong because I don’t know where he is but this isn’t the first time he just left out of my life no where to be found and to that I say maybe he’s running away from his new kids.” She sighed sad for them. 

Morning came 

“I couldn’t sleep a wink... You? I think about what if Daaaad shows back up how our life will change all of a sudden again with our financial situation and the little cupcakes future in mind-I still think you’ve found nothing new and it’s time to officially close the coffin on this forever.” She Carter smiled.

Reese done his examination that night early so he would be prepared for the one done in the morning so they snuck in and came to the conclusion and stepped out to Nova. “It’s not him.” He shook his head. “The report says Russo shot him in the side and he was alive but whoever that man is… He was shot in the side postmortem. 100% no doubt about it. verdict. Alive or not Your father is out there somewhere but this is not him….” He put his hand on her shoulder. “But only we have to know that.”

Nova’s heart skipped a beat. “But he could be dead now.... Somewhere....” She felt the guilt creep in if they was not to speak of the truthful results. “Daaad, mom was right, Reese. Isn’t that wild love?” She felt her heart could still be mended by her dysfunctional father daughter relationship. If  he was alive then it wasn’t too late. “What would you do pumpkin? I’m conflicted.”

“It’s fine we just need to wait until I do my examination. and Should it come back it isn’t him.” He looked at Nova “Is it still him?” He questioned whether or not they would reveal the truth and help her father or let it be.

She laughs like a Carter, “ That’s one of the reasons why I love you pumpkin.” She kisses her man. “That depends... I didn’t mind not mentioning a word about hearing my mother on the other end of the phone line months before she turned back up. I say it’s a little pay back. Nova’s gonna stop them now.” She evil grins.

“No. Dumbekka arranged that hey did you hear she named the baby dimbek.” He scoffed and then laughed. “ Injury won’t be necessary Cupcake.” he’d eat it without facing death or loss of limb because he knew she’d try. Oh shit Reese thought and looked at Nova and back at Nora. “W-well of course. I’ll do it if you insist but denial is the first step of grief so lets play it cool till the results are in.”

Nova cackled, “ We’ll see puddy.”  She kinda liked having him at her mercy. “Reese is right mother. And why are you always so selfish to be putting ME through the pain of burying Daaaad all over again..I just stopped having nightmares of him abandoning me for the to be replaced with burrying him every night.” She actually cried. “I’ll be by your side rooting you on for your first autopsy back from a impaired man.”  They sepreated from Nora. “What if mom is right? What about the money.....”

“Finally! Your father came through for you nova!” Reese was beyond ecstatic that the money would be enough to cove everything and them live off of for a while as he recovered. “We should celebrate.”

Nova cried happy tears. “You’re right Reese! Bless his soul!” She hugged him. “We should celebrate.” She rolled him into the bedroom. “No need to push the beds together.” She said and locked the wheels on his chair. “I’m going to fuck you.” She whispered sensually in his ear.  Nova pulled Reese cock from the fly of his pants. “Get hard for me cupcake.” She said as she spat in the palm of her hand and began stroking him. “Feel good?” she asked from her knees. Nova ran a drizzle of water from the sponge to his hair. “I wasn’t going to say anything, but The check was delivered today!” She said so excited. “No more filing for bankruptcy, Pumpkin!” She said all joyful.

“I might not have known your mother for long but she’s not a murder! Especially not to him. I’ve seen the way she looks at him, Nooo ho ho siree.” He shook his head. “Oh I mean might as well get what you’re owed. Good luck with that I’m still trying to get that down.” Adulting he meant. “ I’m not making promises but I promise I’ll try my best.” He sighed. “You wouldn’t happen to have any leads that are in this county would ya?”

Nova remembered a phone call from her Uncle Noah and the slightest noise of what sounded like her mother in the background. “Not in this county. But like you said Mexico would probably be a place to start.” Nova would wait until she received her money before attempting to bring her mother back, however she was worried about her little brother.

Nick couldn’t believe Nova thought her Mother would kill Dimitri. “You’re telling me she could… have done it?” He questioned. “That’s impossible. Isn’t it?” He couldn’t see Nora doing that after the way he saw her look at Dimitri.

“I mean anything is possible.... You’re the cop! You tell me what it looks like? Why is it looked at as impossible to you?” Nova sighs. “Look I’m all tore up but I have adulting to do with the lawer so I can inherit Daaaads money. It’s kinda important. And since mom isn’t around to claim.....I don’t know. Please, Nick just find my baby brother.”

Reese honestly didn’t believe Bekka because she could be over dramatic and figured he was only dead to her because of a fight. But the TV proved otherwise. “Oh, Oh dear.” He knew how terrible this was going to be for the family. Reese grabbed her hand and pulled her over onto him it wasn’t like he could feel his legs anyway he held Arthur to his side and hugged Nova. “He wasn’t there for you then and you had me and now that he’s gone you have me now too.”

“You’re so good to me when you want to be.” Nova hugged him back. It all felt like a bad nightmare to Nova one that she thought she would wake up from but it was not. “I’m an orphan!” she cries. “I guess I always was!” She used her anger and hurt that she had built up for Dimitri to cope.

“I don’t know.” Nick hated to not be of any comfort or help with his answers. “But I’m gonna find out. The only thing I can think of is what happened in Mexico so that’s where I’m going. Keep me updated if you hear anything from her here. I’ll let know what I find out.”

“But I just have a gut feeling that mom knows what really happened to my dad... Nick I’m afraid...afraid that she might of had something to do with his death. It’s just strange to me she’s MIA around the same time Dad was found dead.”

“I can’t even obtain a bathroom break on my own.” He held up the hanging cord to his catheter before dropping it and patting his newborn son on the back gently. “He looks like me.” He said not in shock but more in the look of he was sorry he ever considered it might not be even tho he would have never spoke up about it.

“We’ll get through it. Yes, he does he’s handsome.” She took his hand as Bekka walked into the room. “Wow, you look like shit!” Nova laughed. It was clear that Bekka had been crying. “Where is your mother?” Bekka asked with a not shitting around tone. “Uh, I don’t know she left to get Spencer and never came back.” Nova wasn’t much worried because her mother did things like that often. Bekka looked at Nova and Reese. “Nova-Your dad is dead.” She said  and walked out of the room and to see Kratos. Nova laughs a little and then her laugh turned into a panic laugh as she looked over at Reese. And then the news came on and reported the death of Detective Carter on the tiny hospital tv screen. “Nooooo! DaAAAAd!” Nova screams.

Nova winced at him raising his voice. “You’re not that broken... can you still obtain an erection?” She really hoped so even tho they hadn’t banged in a while. “He’s doing good.” She was grateful that even when he though he was dying he was there helping her the best he knew how. ‘Say hi,” She said and placed Arthur on Reese chest.

It bothered Nova, Chip not knowing Kakes was his daughter. What if she and Reese both would have died back there? Kakes or Chip would have never known. “Stop it dummy,” She blushed and smiles at him. “That way I’d leave my mark on you, huh?” She flirts.

Just then Chip walked in holding Kakes. “Nova I came as soon as I heard and I do mean as soon. I was at the gym and left my locker key somewhere so I just stole from someone else’s locker. Are you and Artie okay?” He came and sat on the side of the bed with her. “Hi, I’m Chip.” He said in a sorry voice and pat Nora’s head as they both hugged Nova and He held his hand out to shake Dimitri’s.

It hurt Dimitri to see how hurt Nova was and to only put it as a shit day. She was tougher than anyone could imagine. He kissed her on the head and at first Dimitri thought Chip was Reese but that wasn’t possible. Dimitri shook his hand and looked at Kakes then up and Chip. He then looked at Nova and gave her a look like he knew that it was Kakes Father. “Nice to meet you.” Dimitri looked at Nora. This was right before Dallas waked in.

Nova’s heart sped up hearing Chip’s voice echo in the room. “You’re a fuckin cretin Chip Taylor.” She pulled away from Nora and latched her arms around Chips neck leaning on his support for the moment. ‘You smell like teen spirit.”  she smiles small. Nova noticed her daaad looking at Chip like that. What could he detect blood relations now?   “Mom or Dad or both, whatever! Could you guys go to my house and get my overnight hospital bag? I made it and placed it by the door for when I was induced but I need it now. Arthur would really appreciate his grandparents doing that for him” she smiles because she didn’t want Chip to leave her to get her things so they needed to do this.

“That’s a good thing.” He could only imagine what it was like to be her. “That’s when you’re your bravest, sweetheart.” He watched her twitch and understood the feeling well. “At least you’re honest.” He was shocked at her choice but Nova did always have a way of doing things unexpectedly sometimes noble sometimes skanky. “That’s, That’s really beautiful, Sweetie. I’m proud of you.” Not because the name but what she’d done today and honestly her whole life. “You’re a survivor in every sense of the word. I really don’t know what could get in your way.” He half smiled and looked at Nora and she handed him Arthur. “Thank you. For always being there by the way. You just somehow seem to… Know.” He left it at the for the time being.

Nova broke down in tears seeing her dad upset and hearing he was proud of her. “It’s been a shit day!”
