What’s with the placeholder chapters for A State of Nominal Matrimony?? I was so confused and sad when I thought I had a few chapters left to enjoy but it’s only really 13 😭 I just really love this fic, you’re so talented and I can’t wait to read more!

I am so sorry about that! I had added a chapter as an update explaining it, but I guess I deleted it too early! I'll put up an explanation in ch14 for people.

The explanation- I felt like I had mishandled the part of my timeline and narrative for the story in the most recent few chapters, and something just wasn’t working. SO, I erased them, and I’m currently rewriting. I will be publishing a bunch of chapters together, as soon as I’m satisfied with them. I made a copy of the story with all of the original chapters and you can read that here. It might give you spoilers for the reworked story, so be forewarned.

The scent thing was definitely borrowed from my life lol since I find smell so important and I absolutely love the way my husband smells. It literally triggers an oxytocin release when I just breath in his skin lol.

Ok, I’m kind of torn about my fic the State of Nominal Matrimony because the first scene, the flash-forward scene that inspired the whole story is Brendon rushing down to the ER after he gets the call his wife was assaulted. But it just doesn’t work to have it on July 4th in the context of my fic and it seems overly contrived to have it happen twice. I don’t know if it makes Emma’s whole story less impactful if I change something that big about her day? Or the entire premise of the story less impactful or like, false advertizing, you know? But I feel so strongly that the reveal just doesn’t have the proper impact if it happens on Emma’s day 1. It works far better if people know her better, and if it’s not in the context of all the other craziness going on. Idk if anybody cares lol, but these thoughts are churning in my brain right now.

Not sure why it's a new trend among fic readers to assume if the fic has not been posted within the week it's inappropriate to comment on it, like the fic has to be hot out of the oven to give feedback for.

I got a comment on a fic that is less than a year old and it was mostly an apology for being a comment on an "old fic" and how late they were in commenting.

Just comment on the fic. Doesn't matter how old it is.
