Hi, my name is Onyx. I am a transmasc half Mexican artist who’s been drawing since I was practically a baby. I dream of working on my own major projects someday. This is my partner, who is still embarking on their gender journey. They are a very talented black artist, UI/UX designer, crocheter, and many other things. My partner and I are in dire need of your help. They are injured and cannot return to work, and I was able to try to make ends meet by working very hard. However, now our only means of transportation is gone. The battery died while I was driving and it’s got many other issues it seems. It is probably going to cost in the thousands to get it fixed. Ok, I’m kind of torn about my fic the State of Nominal Matrimony because the first scene, the flash-forward scene that inspired the whole story is Brendon rushing down to the ER after he gets the call his wife was assaulted. But it just doesn’t work to have it on July 4th in the context of my fic and it seems overly contrived to have it happen twice. I don’t know if it makes Emma’s whole story less impactful if I change something that big about her day? Or the entire premise of the story less impactful or like, false advertizing, you know? But I feel so strongly that the reveal just doesn’t have the proper impact if it happens on Emma’s day 1. It works far better if people know her better, and if it’s not in the context of all the other craziness going on. Idk if anybody cares lol, but these thoughts are churning in my brain right now.
