I find Valya's hair in the flashback scene so interesting because it is very Elvis-inspired. Adam's been emphatic that Valya is not a dissident, but he dresses his hair like one of the most famous Western rock stars in the early 60s, he attends parties hosted by people in the dissident music scene, and Tanya mentions that he shares her love for Western music. He might not be a dissident, but he's not fully aligned with what the Soviet government expects for its citizens either. It's also telling that when he's recruited by the Americans, he changes his hair to a more conservative style, like he wants to appear as much like a loyal cosmonaut as possible.

I'm just gonna do this one post here, I think - because they decided to put Thancred and Alphinaud's designs up, for the 3 month deadline to fund samples.

Again: If you want to see the dolls made, you do have to actually place an order, and the doll has to reach the required 30 orders to guarantee a sample.

As I type, Y'shtola only has three days left on her interest check and 13% funded, so I don't think she'll get a design up.

I'm very pissed about how almost all of the good FFXIV merch is in blind boxes now. And also that when they do actually make a product that you can select for yourself, like the Alphinaud and Alisaie plush, they are of notably lower quality than other similar items. So, fuck Square, I'm not buying their merch, I'm going fanmade from here on out forever.

And in that spirit, I thought y'all should know Plush Wonderland is in the process of doing interest check polls on a TON of FFXIV characters.

Obvs of most relevant interest are the twins as direct competition for cash in Square's pocket, BUT, they also have a bunch of other characters as well. A $5 on the interest check equates to $10 off the finished product if it passes, which makes it cheaper than the equivalent product from Square, and of better quality, and doesn't put money in Square's pocket.

There are also interest polls for Fordolla and Fandaniel but I can only post 10 image links, so... yeah, sorry.

Erenville passed the interest poll round and is now in the sample making process, and while it does look good, idk if I endorse this one bcs it's got human ears on the side of its head in addition to the rabbit ears. I believe the creators have been made aware of the error on social media, but they haven't updated the production images, so it's of a concern. Obviously scissors exist, tho, and if you're confident you can patch him up afterward, that's a simple surgery on an otherwise perfect plush right there.
