I just love Cotesia glomerata 🖤🖤🖤
A tiny xenomorph 🖤
what actually kills me about the avatar fandom is how people still don't get that recom quaritch is NOT human quaritch. like… he’s literally a clone who just happened to inherit his memories and personality. he’s a separate entity. and that goes for lyle, mansk, and the rest of them too!! they are literally different people and i’m begging y’all to start making the distinction.
The biological aspect of the Recombinants is such an underrated part of the lore, and it changes everything about how we should perceive their agency
Look at his silly little smile 😭 he’s about to commit crimes
I love Chet’s design and I don’t care what anyone says, they’re awesome.

I'm obsessed with these xenomorph frog sculptures, these lil guys are so cute.
Xenomorphs do NOT have sexes — and they are not hermaphrodites either
Xenomorph biology is often misunderstood because people instinctively try to interpret it through Earth-based concepts of sex and reproduction. This leads to common but incorrect ideas: that xenomorphs are female monsters, or that they are hermaphrodites because they reproduce without males. In reality, neither interpretation is accurate.
Xenomorphs are not built on sexual biology at all.
Xenomorphs are sexless organisms
In the Alien canon, xenomorphs do not possess biological sex. They are neither male nor female, and there is no sexual differentiation within the species.
Their life cycle does not include:
mating
fertilization
sex-specific reproductive organs
genetic inheritance through gametes
Instead, their reproduction is entirely non-sexual, relying on parasitism and host integration. This already places them far outside the biological frameworks we use for animals on Earth.
Why xenomorphs are not even hermaphrodites
At first glance, calling xenomorphs “hermaphrodites” might seem like a reasonable compromise. However, this is still incorrect.
Hermaphroditism is still a sexual system.
A hermaphroditic organism:
produces gametes (eggs and/or sperm),
possesses sexual organs (even if combined),
reproduces through fertilization,
passes down its own genetic material to offspring.
Xenomorphs do none of this.
There are no xenomorph gametes. There is no fertilization. There is no mixing of genetic material between individuals.
The presence of egg-laying does not imply hermaphroditism. Egg-laying is only associated with sex within terrestrial biology. Outside of that context, an “egg” is simply a container — not proof of sexual reproduction.
Because xenomorphs completely lack sexual mechanisms, calling them hermaphrodites is just as anthropomorphic as calling them female.
The Queen is not a female
The Queen’s role is often the source of confusion. She produces ovomorphs, so people instinctively label her as female. But this logic only works for Earth organisms.
The term “Queen” is a functional title, not a biological classification. She represents a specialized reproductive caste, similar in role (not biology) to eusocial insects. Her function is to ensure species replication, not to act as a sexual female.
Using “she” to refer to the Queen is simply a linguistic shortcut. Language forces us to assign pronouns, but pronouns do not define anatomy or reproductive systems.
A replication system, not a mother
Another key difference lies in genetics.
The Queen does not appear to transmit personal genetic traits the way animals do. Instead, she seems to replicate a species-level genetic template— a stable xenomorph blueprint. Each egg is not a child carrying her individual DNA, but a standardized carrier of the species’ core genetic code.
Variation only appears later, through interaction with the host organism during implantation. This makes the Queen closer to a biological replication system than a mother in the biological sense.
Why “family” concepts do not apply
Because of this system:
Xenomorphs are not siblings.
They do not have parents in a genetic sense.
There is no lineage or inheritance of identity.
They function as expressions of a single species-wide mechanism rather than as individuals connected by family relationships.
Conclusion
Xenomorphs are:
not female
not male
not hermaphroditic
They are sexless, non-sexual organisms sexless, whose reproduction has no true Earth equivalent. Applying human or animal categories to them reduces their alien nature and fundamentally misunderstands what they are.
Xenomorphs are not misunderstood animals. They are not insects with renamed organs.
They are something entirely alien — by design.
Griiiid !!💚🖤💚🖤!!
Neca AVP Grid figure
I love this figure so much 💚 and I'm so glad I have it.
Man, I miss the old Alien movies... when the Xenomorph was pure nightmare fuel. Now we’ve got Alien Earth — feels more like How to train your dragon than Alien. Disney really ruined it.
My best guy Six 💚 They are such a cool xeno
