if you don’t mind me asking, how do you put out/advertise commissions typically? or at least most successfully

-from an artist struggling with commissions

I don’t make my main income from commissions and I never have.

My main income is through work in publishing, ie making graphic novels with publishers. I spent many years building skills and contacts within the UK community comics community until I think I basically hit a ceiling and decided to sign with an american agent, at which point the majority of income has come through stuff she signs me for.

I also have fairly consistent commercial book cover and game key art work, but that was also built from answering open calls with clients or slow relationship building. It also doesn’t account for a huge income for me, as I might do one or two of each a year.

I don’t think that’s really equivalent to the commissions I think you mean (like private commissions from clients online.)

There may be a better artist to ask about this.

You can check your local bookstores to see if you can order it from them, or if there’s an online bookshop you normally get books from, you can check there too! You should be able to pre-order it :) !!
