Just realized why everyone says there was a big change in everyone’s character between Gacha life and Gacha club. It’s cuz of who jake spent most of his time with

During the gacha life episodes (ep1-4) and ep5 as well (since it’s a continuation of 4) Jake spent most of his time with the dromies. So we got to see those moments of weird and disgusting comments from Liam and Henry, along with how they’d bully the club, how Drew thought he was higher than anyone and could “get any girl” he wants. Simultaneously we saw the club (especially Hailey) as a group of bullied kids with a sassy personality, who could stand up to their bullies and does absolutely nothing wrong.

But then when we get to the gacha club episodes (ep6-11) (which was also when Jake hanged out with the club more) we saw the dromies as just a bunch of popular kids who hang out at malls, play games together and make funny jokes, but then we see the club for all their flaws. Hailey had it worse in this case since she spent the most time with Jake from being viewed as controlling, manipulative, etc (I’ve seen someone say narcissistic so we’re gonna throw that in too). Not to mention the more vulnerable moments of the club and all of them softening their personalities (which is why people say Zander and Hailey lost their personality.)

In actuality none of them changed. The only one who actually changed was Jake. The dromies are still the same people they were at ep1, and so was the club. It’s based on screentime and Jake’s perspective of them that we see different sides of each character, no one else had a drastic change.

also i think a lot more ppl would’ve liked jailey if their rivalry lasted longer or at least treated a bit more seriously instead of the weird ass tsundere x flirty trope we got. maybe the trope would’ve worked more later on in the development but right at the first episode??? it just makes the rivalry feel bland and watered down imo. they had a lot of potential to be interesting rivals bcus of their parallels and stuff but NO!!! haha princess malarkey go!!! and i think jake should’ve been more of a bitch to hailey bcus he saw his middle school self in her which he hated and he coped with that by throwing the most vile insults at her and blablabla would make things more interesting for the ship and their characters (i think pre-redemption jake should’ve been more of an asshole in general but thats for a another confession for another time)

don’t get me wrong i think jailey is generally a good ship. good. not great bcus they fail to live up to the enemies part in enemies to lovers and are generally very watered down is some parts in their relationship

I hate how people fail to understand Liam’s character. No he’s not a funny high school student who got stuck with bad friends and is secretly abused by Drew. He’s perfectly ok with Drew’s actions because he sees no issue in it. He’s just as much of a bad person as Drew especially towards the club, just not manipulative.

He doesn’t respect women especially not after that “I guess she’s the type that can’t be tamed” line and his failure to realize that hey… your friends mothers do not want to date you! And if they do that’s a problem 😅

He’s your typical high school weirdo who’s character code is litterally described as a pervert. He’s not a feminist, he’s not supportive of women and women’s rights, if he was he never would’ve implied you can tame women which just so everyone is on the same page is extremely misogynistic and dehumanizing!

He’s just as bad of a friend as Drew and Jake too. He can’t communicate either like yeah he was probably being blackmailed or theatrenednby Zoey but bro genuinely kept this hidden 😭🙏even before that he knew Zoey was using Drew for money and he was like yeah… this is perfectly ok I’m just… not going to tell him??

Obviously he can change he’s a teenage boy, but some fans are genuinely struggling to understand his character and badly mischarterizing him.

I don’t get how people say Sean is Jake’s best friend and not Hailey. Sean and Jake have no interaction of just them before ep11 because every interaction they have together involves Hailey or Milly. And their actual solo interaction was because of Daisy.

It’s so obvious that they’re just close friends meanwhile Jake and Hailey spend every second together and there’s been almost over 10 scenes in eleven episodes of just Jake and Hailey interacting.

And the weird part is people will literally fight you if you point this out and Sean’s listed as Jake’s best friend on the fandom wiki?

On the topic of that wiki though why is Luke listed as a close friend and Milly isn’t? Milly is so much closer to Jake than half of the club and Luke has actually never had a positive interaction with Jake besides when Luke wrote Meant To Be.
