her eyes were fixated to the screen of her phone, an utter disconnect to the real world whilst yael paced the halls of degrassi. where in the hell could her headset be? she just had it with her last period! and still, yet, she remained in her trance, glancing up only upon feeling her shoulder collide with another student’s. “oh, crap. sorry. i’m just looking for something - i got uber distracted.”

“wow... what’s the rush, nerd?” quickly taking a step back as to put some distance between them. he had spent the last two periods looking for his usb, it had an important assignment on it that was due later next week and maybe... some other important files that need no discussion. “i can see that.” in regards to yael having mentioned their distractedness.

“i had a dentist appointment today which was – ugh – but i have zero cavities! so guess who’s treating herself to a lollipop with her dinner.” 

“that’s it? just a lollipop? at least make it a chocolate cake or something.”

“hey - i can’t guarantee your stomach’s safety after the s’mores that’ll change your life. as, like, socrates said, pitter patter, let’s get at ‘er!”

“i don’t think socrates said that... but as long you don’t tell anyone i burnt down the entire woods, let’s get this fire started. first, we’ll need some twigs and stuff.” immediately going to work, as he gathers what he could from their nearby surroundings, rather intimidated by the great wilderness that had no clear pathway or... reception for google maps.

zig grabs ahold of the map, grip firm as brows move to form a frown across his features. he was lost. although, not unexpected... it was still a shock... kind of. “who needs this stupid map anyway!” he lets out a disgruntled scream before, dropping himself onto the leafy ground beneath, before hearing a rustle in the bushes behind, he gets up immediately, eyes widen, “w-who’s there? i have a pocket knife, and i’m not afraid to use it!”

“thank me later - i brought marshmallows! we can, like, totally have s’mores… only problem is i have no idea how to start a fire…”

“well, lucky for you i can start a fire.” he pauses, “although, i can’t guarantee your safety after starting said fire.”

drew: hot girls, creepy woods, bikinis, mild supervision?

zig: the only thing that caught my attention in that list

zig: was mild supervision

zig: the rest? ehh... not so much

        “ c’mon man ! you won’t even show leniency towards your bestest friend in the whole world ? ”      he didn’t think his request would be that much of a big deal, but he supposed buying an extra lunch at the caf for a week wouldn’t be much skin off his back.      “ fine, you drive a hard bargain, novak … but deal. now hand over your notes. ”      tiny was not one to skip class. he cared immensely about his grades ; more than he let on, really. which is why he didn’t want to fall behind just because vince had an urgent deal he needed done during school hours.

he hands over his notes, a good eight pages. contrary to popular belief, he did care about school despite the reputation he had, his homework was always due on time. in fact, he would pass with flying colours, and in fact fact, he was a keen student if only it weren’t for the errands he had to run outside of the school walls, he would be top of his class. “all is fair in love and war, my friend.” giving tiny a quick wink, “i’m looking forward to lunch, you got me excited now.”

Zig: Hey, do you think I could fit fifteen marshmallows into my mouth?

Grace: You’re a hazard to society-

Tiny: And a coward. Do twenty.

“i was sick all weekend and stayed bundled up on the couch watching hallmark movies with my mom. i guess it wasn’t so bad, but it got to a point where i couldn’t handle another lovey dovey movie.”

“oh man, i have no idea how to comfort you because i’ve never had to go through that. must be so terrible to have a house to live in with your loving mom, huh?”

“oh please,” she pouts through pouted lips, “have you not seen good looking green hair? zayn malik had super cool green hair… and gerard way, too. you can just keep it on ‘til it washes out fully.” gentle, manicured hands uncap the bottle, giving it a preliminary shake before stepping back from zig and unleashing a full minute’s worth of green mist. 

"i don’t know if you’ve noticed, but i’m neither of those people so green isn’t going to match everyone the same.” he holds his breath, still being overwhelmed by the mist as he half-frantically waves his hands about, “there is a lot of trust going into this right now, i hope you know.” he manages to mumble in between breaths.

“that could work, if they’re as thick skulled as you are.” she quickly retorts, “fine, but don’t expect it this to be a continuous thing, zig. lunch will be on me, for three days. not a week, but three days.” she raises a subtle brow, before returning her gaze back to the textbook before her. “and since when did you need food to punch people? you do it well enough without the food, as it is.” 

“you’re a lot stingier than you appear, you know that?” both brows raising above hues as his arms come to cross before him, “four days and it’s a deal, after all, what kind of celebrity are you if you can’t even buy lunch for me? a phoney if you ask me.” resorting to taunting her, in attempts to getting some free lunch, being disowned by his parents came with the territory of starvation. food, a luxury he had taken for granted.

Hunter glared at Zig, letting out a heavy sigh. “Don’t you have someone else to bother?” He asked, completely ignoring the boy’s question.

"frankly, i don’t.” an exaggerated smile, peering across his features, “and you happen to be closest, so here i am. bothering. you.”

Spending my evening getting everything organized for the church’s upcoming holiday festivities. We’ll be taking all sorts of toy donations in the next few weeks for families all around. Hopefully, you can all donate! Seeing the look on those kids’ faces is always so incredibly heartwarming. I love this time of year!

“i would consider donating but i hardly think receiving charity gifts from strangers makes the festive season more... festive. wouldn’t it just be a reminder of how cruel this world is? oh the injustice is crippling.”
