Entropy (2015) 'Entropy' is the process of a system falling into chaos and disorder. In 2015, I co-created an experimental "cameraless" film - made by using a collage of cut and spliced 16mm found footage with organic and painted elements. "Cameraless" films guide the viewer's eye around the frame through the use of interesting textures and direct manipulation of the film itself. It's a strange concept, but I had fun experimenting with different techniques to produce weird results! Thanks to Zachary Ozolins and Leon Fry for their contributions to this project.

There's a bit in Godel Escher Bach analyzing how Jabberwocky was translated into other languages. It still amazes me. How would you even begin to translate Carolls semi-nonsense words into other languages? There is no French equivalent to "galumphing" or "vorpal" so you have to find equivalent French words that can be evoked and played with until they are parallel semi-nonsense.

I remember reading that for the first time and feeling s distinct sense of linguistic/semiotic coyote-time. What the hell is any of this language bullshit. What are we doing? It's all ridiculous. Translation between languages feels like a trick that will be patched out of reality at any moment, and people are doing it with poems. Ridiculous.

Arno Schmidt, who translated (or attempted to) both into German, famously said that translating Jabberwocky was magnitudes more difficult than translating the Wake!

I love this so much. Someone slowed it down so it's not the old-fashioned herky-jerky of old films, now someone colorized it…the past feels like the present because, well, people. Lookit them having fun! *beams at everyone*

I had a dream that I was exploring some vast underground temple complex carved directly into the rock. There were these worm creature things wearing masks moving around in the distance but I wasn't scared of them. At one point I arrived at a small wooden door.

The door had a series of symbols carved into it. Within the dream, I immediately recognized this as something called a "charm of 40". It was ten rows and four columns of glyphs. The four columns represented the physical elements, and thus the incarnate "body" of the spirit within. The ten rows corresponded to the ten steps of emanation, which represented the spirits psyche, intellect, sensorium, etc.

It was a pair of double doors. With a different charm of 40 on the left and right, which implies some kind of union between the two. When I opened the door, I woke up. I immediately tried to recreate what I saw.
