having an abusive parent is so painfully confusing sometimes like you are so use to seeing them as heartless and angry and selfish, but when they randomly act human or you see them feel or even be n i c e or see them genuinely laugh, your mind freaks out because it’s not normal to see that and so you don’t know how to react to it. and then you feel guilty for always seeing them as heartless and cold and you feel like you just made it all up and that you yoURSelf are the heartless and cold one but as soon as they go back to showing their toxic traits you kind of feel relief because thATS what’s normal and familiar and then it just repeats and you don’t know who you are and what to do and just !!!
