It was as if the two of you didn't realise what happened. You went on a mission just the two of you, no one but you both and Price knew what happened during it. Classified to others.
Now it wasn't as though you didn't like each other. You weren't overly close, but after the mission? Inseparable.
You followed one another like a lost puppy. You always grabbed his sleeve or belt loop, and Simon would almost always have an arm around you.
When you first came back, you only spoke to each other and Price. But after a while you began speaking to others again, though you primarily only spoke to each other. Whispering close.
You also completely abandoned your barracks. If the two of you were sleeping on base, you were in Simons barracks. You'd moved everything into his quarters.
What others didn't know, was that you slept nude. You had to otherwise one of you would have a horrible nightmare. It was as if your bodies needed to feel one another to be sure they were still alive.
Another thing others noticed was how one of you would have a hand on the other's wrist to feel the pulse. Or one of you would be lying on the couch in the rec room with the other lying on top with their head against the priors chest. Listening to their heart beating in its cavern.
Simon also refused to let others come too close to you. Afraid they would harm you. You were almost always sat on his lap so he would pull you against his chest and glare at whoever was approaching.
When you weren't on base, you were at Simons apartment. You'd moved in the minute you two got back after that gruelling mission. You were rarely apart in the apartment. He followed you to the bathroom when you wanted to shower. Crowding behind you and keeping you safe against him.
You both quickly found out that if one of you woke up in the middle of the night and went to the kitchen or bathroom, the other would wake up and immediately panic. So, when Simon would wake up and crave a cup of tea, he would carry your sleeping body to the kitchen, making his tea with one hand.
"Go back to sleep, Love. 'S alright. Just making myself a cup of tea, you're safe." Simon told you, voice rough and soothing as you nod and nuzzled into his shoulder.
The worst aspect of the two of you being trauma bonded, was when you two had your physical the day after getting back.
Simon had insisted on being in the room when you were getting yours first, only to sprain the doctors wrist when you winced at the needle you were given. And what was worse was the shouting you let out when Price informed you that you would have to stay outside during Simons physical. Price ended up having to literally hold you in your chair.
Being trauma bonded may seem like a negative thing. But when you and Simon were nude and curled around each other in bed, refusing to let go of one another. You never felt safer.
