She listened. And then with her arms crossed she strode forward.

Emmy poked his nose. “Why don’t I believe you? This is a 50 picarat puzzle, professor. Please answer honestly.”

Well! At least she’s teasing him, so she isn’t too put-off by his reappearance.

“You’re... You’re still letting him push you around? Did you at least have Raymond with you? Have you been eating enough?” She doesn’t seem angry. If anything she seems concerned.

She sighed and crossed her arms.

“Were you just pulling my leg when you said you wanted to hire me?”

Now, this was a face he wasn’t expecting to see. He could help but to feel a bit nervous considering the last time they saw each other.
