Part 5.

By the sea 1

These shots were taken after Yurio went back home, so Yuuri and Victor are the main focus here. I aimed for a retro feel, as if these pictures were taken with a camera produced in the '70s. The timing of these shots appearing in the ending matches with the moment, when the melody of the ending song changes to a more quiet tune. Rather than highlighting the characters, I wanted to focus on portraying the mellow atmosphere of these pictures.

By the sea 2

The location is Nijinomatsubara [虹ノ松原、literally Rainbow Pine Moor ;)] on Kyushu - after having fun in the sea, they're washing off the salt. There are actually showers like these on that beach. The showers are designed in such a way that you should use them while facing each other, so they have a bit unusual shape. I've heard that there were plans to use this location in the show, but unfortunately these plans couldn't be realized. That's why I wanted to include a follow-up to this idea in the ED, and so I drew these scenes.

Yuuri and fireworks

When I started production of the ending, the first image that appeared in my head was Yuuri dancing alone on a beach. He dances on ice in the show, so I wanted an art with a different vibe to it [than Yuuri's performances on ice] , where Yuuri is dancing ballet with this flowing-like motion.
