Trigger Warning! Mention of Mature Themes — Dead Dove: Do Not Eat
Tenten really is that kind of a person, if she loves you and you hate someone, she automatically hates that person too. Does she know why or what happened? No. But she hates them!
Loved One: Gosh, I hate them so much?
Tenten: *pops up from somewhere* Who are we hating?
Loved One: [Insert Name]
Tenten: Gosh, I hate that person. They're so annoying and a pain in the ass!
Loved One: You don't even know what happened...
Tenten: And? Who cares? You hate them, so I hate them... with passion!
And yes, Tenten hates most of the Hyuga Clan! With passion! The only members she likes or even loves are Neji ofc, Hinata, Hanabi and Hizashi (and prob. Neji's mother I guess, but we know nothing about her). Later also Boruto and Himawari ofc. But that's it. The person she hates the most is the Hyuga elder, who came up with this stupid ass idea of pushing Hizashi into the branch family, just because he was the younger twin, while his older son was allowed to stay in the main house. And yes she also was kinda mad at the Hyuga Clan for putting Hizashi in the branch house, but when Hanabi was born she wasn't? Don't get this wrong, she doesn't wish for her to be pushed into the branch house, but she's mad that the Hyuga Clan seems to kinda randomly decide who gets to be in the main house and who has to suffer the fate of the branch house.
So yeah, she was one of the first to try and change the Hyuga Clan. Though, her first attempts were met with ridicule because who is she to believe she can change a clan like the Hyugas? But still she bothered every single Hokage to do something until Naruto married Hinata and became Hokage. Tenten went straight to his office, asking him about his promise to change the Hyuga Clan and he insured that he hadn't forgotten his promise and was already working on it with Hinata. To which Tenten said great and to count her in should they need any help. Later Hinata visited Tenten to ask her for help to remove the Caged Bird Cursed Seal without damaging the wearer. Tenten immediatly agreed, telling her she has been already working on finding a solution and in the end she found a way to remove the seal.
Sooo I decided not to put ALL my interactions on my tracker again as I had it before, but only those that have been plotted in one way or another. For smaller interactions and dashbantering I decided for another system. Here I'll be giving it a like and put it in my drafts. As soon as I answered it and post my turn, I'll remove the heart, so when you answer to it again, I can like it again. This way you always know that I've seen your answer and have put it in my drafts to answer whenever I can. This way neither my tracker gets to clustered nor will I lose anything in my likes and I can keep a better overview of everything.
Under the cut I've added everyone I have any kind of threads with and linked linked the thread. Please let me know if I missed smth or if I have forgoten anyone on this list. I also added a lil note saying my turn, which is mostly for me so I know what thread is my turn and which one is yours. Ofc no pressure! As I said: It's just a note for me till I've made my new tracker.
PS: Please keep in mind I only added things I have with Tenten, Mito or Anko. Everything else is still on my other blog.
She gives her most special and favorite weapons names. At first she gave every single one of them a name, but at one point it got way too much so she started to only name the special ones
Her weapons must always be sorted in a specific system that no one really gets except her
She's always afraid of forgetting something important, which is why she kinda carries everything with her in her scrolls at all time. Even things she doesn't seem to need at all. The advantage is that even if you need the strangest thing at the strangest time, Tenten has it with her
She tends to be somewhat superstitious. For example she always carries a lucky charm with her and has several other quirks regarding this like, she believes that a broken mirror brings bad luck, and in burning incense against bad energy, etc. However, she doesn't believe that for example black cats bring bad luck; instead, she believes that dead animals bring bad luck. So, if an animal dies close to where she lives, she quickly buries it, lights a candle, and begins burning incense at the spot to ward off bad luck, etc.
😔 - is your muse insecure?
Yes but she knows how to hide it. There are only a few who can see through her. Sometimes she's even able to trick Lee and her sensei. The only people she never was able to trick are Kakashi and Neji. They always see right through her. Tenten blames their Sharingan and Byakugan, though she knows that's not really something these Kekkei Genkais can do.
🙈 - can your muse be blindly loyal?
Yes, she can but again only towards very very special and important people. But as soon as she's reached the point, there's no one more loyal then she is.
💢 - what would cause your muse to be annoyed?
People talking bad about her team, making fun of them, or underestimate them because they are a team that doesn't really use Ninjutsu or Genjutsu
The Hyuga Clan and its system of oppression and especially what they're doing to Neji but also that no one in the village is trying to end this not even the Hokage
People telling her she can't do something/lacks talent or the ability for something
Failing in general
People touching her stuff, especially weapons without permission. There are only a few who are allowed to do that
Being forgotten and ignored
Being called useful as if she's a tool you can use. She doesn't mind if someone says her skills and scrolls are useful or that it's useful that she always has everything with her etc. But she can't stand it if someone says "You are useful". Then better say something like "You're helpful"
First of all: I know canon has her birthday on March 9th but I chose this birthday for her years ago, long before I knew anything about the databooks and the official birthdays of the characters. And yeah I know October 10th is also the birthday of Naruto and when I found out back then, I did struggle if I should keep her birthday on October 10th or if I should just use her canon birthday. But then I decided to keep October 10th. Who says two characters can't have their birthday on the same day? Beside it kinda makes it even worse that Tenten didn't only lost her parents but she lost them on her first birthday. With this in mind I even worked this into her story back then and here it is:
Tenten always had complicated feelings when it came to her birthday. She could never really be happy or look forward to her birthday and even started to hate the time before her birthday and her birthday itself because this time of the year always made her extremly sad. Among other things, she was taught from an early age, even if unintentionally, that this day was not a good day and not a day to celebrate. Furthermore, she and he birthday was always forgotten almost completely on this day and her birthday was always pushed into the background because of other things, such as the anniversaries of the Kyubi attack and the death of Tenten's parents.
Since Tenten's birthday was on October 10th, her birthday was never really celebrated. Not because she didn't want to, but because it hurt her aunt/adoptive mother way too much, so she never really prepared much for Tenten other than a cake and a few candles, which were intended more as a tribute to Tenten's parents and not really for her birthday.
Once, Tenten asked her aunt why all the other children had birthday parties, but she never got one, to which her aunt only replied because her birthday happened to be on the same day as the day of the Kyubi attack, where many people lost their lives, including her parents, so it would be inappropriate to celebrate on that day since it was a day of mourning. Tenten, still a small child, was heartbroken but accepted that her birthday was not meant to be celebrated, wishing her birthday would be on any other day but October 10th.
This made her aunt eventually realize that what she was doing to Tenten wasn't fair and that she was hurting her niece. So a week later, on March 9th, she prepared Tenten's very first real birthday party. It was just Tenten and her aunt there, but Tenten didn't mind, she was happy that she finally had a day that was just about her and no one else. A day to celebrate her own existence without being overshadowed by anything or anyone else.
However, as Tenten grew older, she stopped celebrating her birthday altogether because she didn't want to celebrate on a fake birthday, that wasn't really her day, but felt like she wasn't allowed to celebrate on her real birthday either. Tenten began to hate talking about her own birthday and always tried to avoid the topic. Since she felt like she had to keep her real birthday a secret, when asked, she always said that her birthday was March 9th, but then added right after that she didn't celebrate it anyway. She always acted as if she didn't really care and felt that birthdays and their celebrations were overrated, after all, they weren't as special as, for example, the day of a passed exam when you had really achieved something. Though when it came to someone else's birthday, she was always eager to make the day as special as possible for that person.
Kinda love how different Tenten, Mito and Anko are if they want to buy something.
Tenten will stare at something for like forever, expressing how much she wants it but that it's too expensive for her. Then she moves on, just for Gai, Neji or Lee to get it for her afterwards. She will always pretend that she can't accept it etc. She does accept it in the end. It's a gift afterall. And she may or may not has realized this and uses this knowledge to her advantage. If she does she will never confess doing so. She also has never stolen Neji's or Gai's wallet ever! Anyone who says otherwise is lying.
Anko is different there, if she sees something she wants but can't afford it, she will find someone who has the great honor of buying it for her. Or lending her the money, which she def. will give back. She won't. By now, she owes money to practically everyone in Konoha. If someone points it out to her, she will either deny it or threaten to kill the person… or both. She also def. has stolen someone wallet and then pretended that she has found it. Though, again, if anyone points that out, she accuses that person of being a liar.
Mito just buys what she wants cause she actually has money. And if she doesn't has it at the time, she waits and saves money until she can buy it herself. She won't borrow money and she won't ask anyone to get her something. Actually, she's the one buying stuff for others if they can't afford it or to give them money if they need it. The only wallet she ever stole was Hashirama's, so he couldn't spend all the money on gambling. Everyone knows it, and she makes no secret of it either.
addition from Hashirama himself: Ladies and gentlemen, here it is in gray and white: Mito has never stolen a wallet in her entire life. She is innocent and pure and she always will be. Thank you very much 😌

Finally finished the first part of gai’s 8 gates coma and how kakashi dealt with it rewrite people have been requesting. [tw blood, injury, coma, death discussions, grief]
"Heeeeyyy Reeeeniiiii!" Lee shouted and waved as team Gai walked up to her. Tenten gave her a friendly smile, while Neji's face was neutral but still friendly. It was clear all of this had mostly been Lee's and Tenten's idea and Neji had just followed. But at least he was there too.
Coming to a stop infront of Reni, they handed her a basket with self painted easter eggs and a book inside. "Happy Easter!" all three cheered as they did so.
Aaaand a little easter special for you too from team gai ofc <3 @shinndo
"I...." taken aback by the gesture she smiled once everything clicked together; warm, crinkling her eyes at the corners. Once she had the basket in hand she inspected the contents with care making sure to make a note to preserve some of it later when she got home especially the art on the eggs which she marveled at like a proud parent.
"Thank you that was rather sweet of you three. Since you got me something so nice why don't I return the favor and take you for a meal my treat how's that sound?"
"That's really no-" Tenten was about to say when Lee interrupted her with a loud cheer. He even would have hit her in the face with his fist if Neji hadn't quickly pulled Tenten aside.
"Woohoo," Lee shouted, raising both his fist up to the sky "Food! Together with Reni! That sounds great!" He cheered excitedly, making Tenten and Neji shake their heads.
Finally both turned to looked at Reni again and shrugged slightly. "Looks like Lee has already decided…" Neji gave a crooked grin, to which Tenten nodded in agreement. "Seems so," she grinned slightly. "Well then, let's do this," Tenten accepted followed by a little nod from Neji and a Lee who was now grinning brighter than the sun.
what happens if you don't come back? you think we can just carry on without you?
It wasn't often that Tenten saw her sensei like this. His typical smile was gone, having given way to a stern and serious expression instead. And it was also not uncommon for Tenten to forget that Gai could be different from the constantly smiling and joking man he usually was. That he could be just as strict and serious.
She could have guessed that this would be his reaction if she told Gai about her plan to infiltrate the enemy's base alone in order to spy on them from the inside. It sounded so easy, get in, gather the information and get out again, that's how she had imagined it. However, Gai saw this very differently; she had realized as much the very moment she told him about her idea, seeing how his expression had instantly hardened.
Tenten only shrugged with her shoulders at his question, still didn't dared to look at him. Fidgeting with her fingers, she finally answered. "It's better me than anyone else... I am replaceable." In the end, she was nothing more than a weapon to be deployed. And weapons were lost or broken sometimes, she knew that very well as often as she had to replace one of her weapons and shed not a single tear for them.
Surely, it would be no different with her. They would get someone new for the team, someone who would fill her place. It wasn't as if she possessed any special talent that would be lost if she was gone. Everything she could do, any other Shinobi could do too. Thus, her life would be no loss, and her team would surely quickly grow accustomed to the new member, forgetting that she had ever existed.
So yes, Tenten was sure, her team and everyone else would be able to just carry on without her.
Have you ever regretted a choice you made for the sake of the village?
(to Mito)
"No."
"Never!"
"And I will never regret any of my choices, be it for the sake of the village or not. I don't make my choices lightly. Every decision, every choice I made, was well-considered and thoroughly thought out, and I would make every single one of them exactly the same way again."
