“I’m just trying to make up for lost time with Scott.” Scott, who was clearly not having any of it either, but that wouldn’t stop him from trying. “Besides, someone needs to fix your roof. There’s more holes than there is solid spots. I can do that for free so you stop wasting your money.”

“It’s not charity.” He replied. “I’m trying to help you and Scott. It’s not really a secret considering I heard Scott say something about your internet being cancelled. I know your hard on cash and I want to help. Is that so hard to believe? I know i’m not the best father, but i’m trying.”

Her arms didn't uncross. “We can get by just fine.” She was picking up double and triple shifts at the hospital, working herself to exhaustion trying to keep up on the bills. “We don't need to owe you anything.” Nothing in the world came free, and Rafe repairing the roof was going to cost her more than she was willing to owe.

Melissa crossed her arms over her chest, hands curled into fists. With everything that was going on, with the werewolves and the hospital and life, having him back in their home was the last thing she wanted to deal with. Her patience was shot, and all she wanted to do was sleep.  “Rafe, we don’t need your charity,” she replied tightly, though she managed to keep herself from glaring.

“I’m not sick. You’re sick.”

“You sure about that, Bobby?”

[kindahategreenberg]

"They’re calling me gay because I wouldn’t sleep with her either. Not that that really bothers me. Not as much as face-eater.”

"Hey... Not wanting to sleep with someone doesn't make you gay. Only being gay makes you gay, and that's a label only you can actually give to you. As for the 'face-eater' thing... Rachel is a terrible kisser, I know that for a fact. But people pick on the insecurities of others, and Rachel thinks she's hot shit, so that's why they're saying it."

"Oh sweetie, no, I doubt it was your fault. Rachel's a horrible kisser."

"Guess who drunkenly hooked up with ice princess Rachel. Way to go, Bobby.”

"That is simutaneously disgusting and a little impressive. And I hate myself a little for even thinking that."

"No. No. No one hurt me. Physically. They just got me drunk after the game the other night.”

"Oh Bobby no..."

"Yeah, I guess."

"That doesn't... Did one of Rafe's friends hurt you? ...Has Rafe hurt you?"

"Look, Melissa. I.. just. This is going to sound crazy. Just. I guess he’s not bad but, his friends are assholes. Just be careful.”

"You think I haven't noticed? Have they done anything to you? Bobby, you'd tell me if they were messing with you, right?"

[kindahategreenberg]

"I have a life you know. I get that i’m a giant loser, but i’m not a tutor. Why don’t you get Rafe to help you? I’m sure you’d rather spend time with him anyway.”

[nursemamamccall]

"Rafael is not... I don't want to spend all of my time with him. I know you're not a tutor, and I know you have a life, I was just asking for a little help as friends. Are you okay, Bobby? You're not usually like this."

"Well maybe if you spent  less time fucking the Prom King and more time studying you wouldn’t need my help in Econ’.”

"You don't have to be an asshole, Bobby. I thought we were friends."

"Sounds great. Thanks again, Bobby. I'll see you at the end of the day."

"It’s tricky." He admitted. Although he was getting straight A’s in the class he could see where some people could get a little lost on the subject. "How ‘bout we meet at the public library after school? If you’re free that is."

"Totally free," she replied quickly. The fact that he was willing to help her was awesome, and she wasn't going to turn him down. "We could walk together, if you want?"

"Not as far as I know. I don’t think i’m bleedin’ anywhere today." He replied, mussing up his hair just to be sure. He was never really aware of his head bleeding. "You still need help on the Econ’ homework?"

She took a step closer to him to get a good look at his head, just to make sure he wasn't bleeding. She smiled at his question. "Econ help would be fantastic, Bobby. You have no idea. I just can't seem to wrap my head around it."

"Brunski again." Who else? "It’s actually a nice change from getting the crap kicked outta me. Seriously, I wish I knew what I did to make him hate me so much."

Melissa groaned. "Burnski is such a bully. He needs to get over himself. It probably wasn't even anything you actually did." She made a mental note to hunt Brunski down later that day. "You're okay though? No scrapes that need to be patched up?"

"Besides the searing pain of being pushed into my own locker? Fine." He shrugged. "How you doin’ Melissa?"

She frowned at that. "You got shoved in your locker again? Who did it this time?" She would go 'talk' to whoever had done it because that wasn't cool.
