Don’t count me out just cause I’m down.
Boy, I’ve been down before.

faceclaim: Elizabeth Olsen
Of course you know the stories of both Caleb and Callista Erikkson; the infamous brother / sister duo who made a vow to be together forever and always. Now it is time for you to know the other Erikkson sister–the former peacemaker between the two.
Born to a viking warrior and his wife Alina quickly became the apple of her Father’s eye or simply as you would call it a daddy’s girl. Though there was something different about Alina; something none of her siblings possessed or at least to her knowledge. Like their mother, she too became gifted in the craft. Alina showed to be a faster learner for it and soon had a knack to be a healer to those in their little village. Oh how gifted she was, oh ignorant she became in not seeing her true potential. Or at least that is how her mother saw it. While Alina was against violence against the wolves, her mother was not. Her mother had at first thought maybe Alina was too soft in the heart to do such a thing against people who can turn into monstrous things. What she didn’t know is her first born daughter had fallen in love with a werewolf. This was Alina’s little secret and one she never wanted known to her mother for she feared the woman’s wrath.
Oh how in love Alina was to that werewolf, so in love with him she had created him a moonlight ring. He treated her as his equal and didn’t care if she was gifted in the craft. The two would sneak off and embrace each other deep in the woods. Everything was perfect to the young witch and found herself wishing over it a lot of just staying there together. When revealing to him just how much of her future she envisioned with the warrior, he proposed. The two secret love birds hatched a plan to leave and start a life together somewhere else; to a place where the wrath of their parents couldn’t reach them. When nearing back to the village the two broke away from each other’s arms and given a look to one another; a look that said it all the next time they see each other will be when putting this village behind them. Sadly though fate had decided something else for the Erikkson witch. That night and having dinner with her family Alina found herself going to bed early to rid herself of a coming illness. The eldest Erikkson daughter soon found herself waking up with her father’s sword embedded in her heart before darkness came and snatched her from the light; from the living.
When waking up with steel blade in her chest no more, Alina came to see her brother forcing their little sister to feast on blood. Seeing the sight before her very eyes, the eldest daughter found herself with a rather odd craving and with it a pain she felt in her mouth. Before Caleb could force Alina to drink, the eldest female Erikkson found herself lunging to a nearby villager. The moment the villager’s blood touched her lips is when Alina knew she was no longer a witch. It was as if she felt the magic leave her body and become replace with something else; something immortal and not mundane. As the villager’s body dropped to the ground as if it were a mere rag doll is when Alina first came to terms with the fact she was not mundane; not anymore. Seeing the corpse’s body at her feet brought her great remorse in what she had done. Ignoring Caleb’s words Alina dashed off away from her siblings to where she would meet her secret beloved. When her werewolf had showed is where Alina was first called a monster. She was running to embrace him in her arms when suddenly he rejected Alina. The former witch had been thrown to the ground as he called her such a thing with disgust in his voice. What happened next was all but a blur to Alina, or at least is what she would say. The last thing she remembered before going back to where the screams came from she left her lover on the ground–barely alive from their fight. When leaving behind that village it was with a broken heart and Alina never looked back.
The next few centuries Alina followed her siblings and laid death to wherever they went due to their blood lust. It was who they were now and something sooner or later Alina grew to hate about herself. Yes, loathing herself wasn’t as bad with her being with Caleb and Callie; she was the peacekeeper between the two. After a while though it soon began to become a more and a rather migraine along with the remorse of spilling blood finally getting to her, Alina left. The eldest female Erikkson found herself entangled in the webs of the American Revolutionary War and found her calling in the medical field. There she learned the ways to become a Doctor and helped countless wounded soldiers. For once since she became a vampire Alina hadn’t felt remorse that involved bloodshed, silly right?
Over the next few centuries she wasn’t as with her siblings as much as she use too. Due to being a Doctor and taking that oath, Alina always put the lives of those before herself and her needs. That never stopped the peacekeeping Erikkson to be their for her family. Of course she doesn’t have such deep ties or rather a lot of memories of Chicago unlike Caleb and Callie, but she at times would call the Windy City home.
Unlike her siblings Alina is stuck in the old way of things. While she does enjoy seeing a woman at the top of the pyramid in Chicago she just has a problem that Amelia is no Original. Don’t get Alina wrong, she adores Amelia but that is the way she sees it. While she might be a civilian from time to time Alina would lend a hand in her advice for she is much more level headed than her siblings. Some would call Alina the noble Erikkson due her always keeping the promises she makes though there is some others out in the world who would rather call her one of the nastiest of the Originals. Many find it hard to see Alina to be wrathful due to her innocent features and oh how the eldest Erikkson daughter learned how to use that in her favor the years.
With news arriving to Alina about the war brewing in Chicago, Doctor Erikkson dropped everything in New Orleans and bought the first plane ticket. What if her siblings needed her advisement? Or an innocent get’s caught in the blood bath? The former witch will do everything in her power to make sure that this war will go down the path with the least blood shed. Now the real question is this, as Alina is back in Chicago for the first time in a long time I might add–will familiar faces return from her past? Or will the darkness she locked away finally come out to play?
You know that saying, ‘the loveliest angels make the cruelest demons’? That entire quote fits the oldest Erikkson sister down to a T. When she was a human very long ago, Alina was one of the kindest women you will ever meet. She had a gentle touch and would always help those in need. The way she held herself up with such grace; such poise, Alina would’ve made a perfect wife and a caring mother. That all changed the night she became an Original.
As a vampire all her emotions intensified along with bringing out a side to her that no one knew she could possess. A side that stayed hidden in the darkness until she became immortal. The oldest Erikkson sister slowly, but surely grew cold and no longer held an optimistic smile 24/7. When you live for as long as Alina has, you are bound to change and sometimes not for the better. When angered or threatened Alina showed just how malevolent her dark side can be. It was side not to be reckoned with. Despite this more colder side of her Alina still showed at times to still be the caring woman she was as a human.
