THERE WAS A lot that baekhyun still had left to learn about the world. even a self-proclaimed genius like himself had to admit sooner or later that the world was enveloped in constant mystery that was just begging to be solved. and though he wanted to rush forward straight ahead, he had learned the hard way that impulsively acting on things usually lead to failure rather than success.
( he also had to take into consideration the fact that he wasn't human, forcing him to follow certain paths to expand his knowledge as to avoid scrutiny by the global population---which isn't fun, by the way. )
and until he could confidently state that he knew everything there was ever to know about the universe they lived in, he had to lay low, to take baby steps to actually getting there---and the baby steps he was currently taking just so happened to those inside of a school (though, for argument's sake, xavier's was hardly your traditional school, so, at least in that sense, it wasn't that bad.) he assumed that after he received his second bachelor's degree that he'd completed the schooling portion of his life but apparently not.
for the first time in his life, he was at a home away from home, at a place that appreciated his gift instead of placing him on a pedestal to gaze at and criticize---and for that, he was immensely thankful. what he wasn't thankful for, though, was the fact that the classes at the academy not only contained mandatory physical education but also ran at a much slower pace than what he was used to. albeit, he was probably one of the more lower-ranked students when it came to classes involving fitness, but baekhyun thrived in academics---he didn't need a class full of people who could hardly learn at half the speed he could weighing him down.
but, he probably should save the whining for later when he wasn't in close quarters combat class (where he could potentially get his ass kicked for thinking too long.) per usual, the students were partnered together for routine sparring, a section of the class that he was slowly but surely improving at (though, he still sucked compared to most of the other students.)
( what did you say about people holding you back again, baekhyun? ) (nxmyein)
