i hate the whole mentality on tumblr that just because a film has a serious subject matter that it’s ‘better’ than a film that…doesn’t. like, people are allowed to like films that aren’t deep. there’s a thing called escapism. sometimes people like lighthearted films over serious ones and they always will. you can respect a film and not want to see it/have any interest in the subject matter…like? people are allowed to have different tastes? and that doesn’t make them bad people. films are subjective.
