hello hello hello! hope you’ve been doing well!

question, what do Artemis and Kurou think of amusement parks? Do they enjoy the more hardcore rides or do they hate them? Or would they go more for the shows/food? Would they be one of those couples at amusement parks where they’re hugging their partner and stuff while they wait in line?

they both like amusement parks! kurou is a huge adrenaline junkie and artemis really just likes to have fun, hahaha. in the first summer after they became friends, kurou was dragging artemis and mordag to the amusement park all the time, so they all have a lot of fun with it. artemis is just a little less keen to wait in line for hours for rides, so they're the type to always get the fast pass or whatever. kurou believes that getting the fast pass is PUSSYING OUT and you need to SWEAT IN LINE for it all to be worth it. he's very passionate about this.

kurou mostly likes to ride hardcore rides (he loves a crazy drop) and artemis is down for pretty much whatever, but just doesn't like spinny stuff because it makes them nauseous. similarly, they tend to eat lightly on amusement park days so they don't feel sick partway through. kurou, on the other hand, is gonna eat like 3 pizza slices and a cheeseburger and be slurping on a huge soda all day LOL

kurou isn't the type to be touchy in line, mostly because he's like so amped up all day, but he'll get you into the most dimly lit attraction possible at some point to get all handsy with you at least once hahaha. if artemis could stand to wait in line for longer than like 20 minutes, yes they would be the cuddly type!

hello!!! wowww jj's first ask hehehe what a monumental occasion! so jj is yet another oc of mine that i've had since i was young (maybe about 10 or 11?) that i co-opted into cryptid coffeehouse because you know i have a habit of doing that lol (ie: jaxeon, sparrow, system five, etc). him and armelian actually were part of this incredibly sprawling science fiction adventure story that i wrote as a kid.. you know, just kid stuff bahaha.

the jj that's in cryptid coffeehouse is MUCH mellower than his original incarnation, where he was like this illegal drag racer always on the run from the cops, but he's always been charming. he's a cyborg because of this original backstory— my brain went cars -> transformers -> robots -> cyborgs.

i'd named him jam jam when i was younger and thought that was soooo silly so i shortened it to jj, plus one of my long time cc server members is named jam and i thought that it would totally freak him out if he saw his name on the screen LMFAO 😭😭😭 he doesn't have a last name though, so i'll have to think of one for him.

but yes, he was flirting with the player, because he is a bit of a flirt... not as much as kixis though. he kind of has a thing for armelian (the hostess— she doesn't reciprocate), but i actually don't have much of a cryptid coffeehouse backstory for him at this point. what i've got so far is that he works at the diner because in the original story, he met armelian at a late night diner where she was a waitress. other than that, i don't have much else hahaha. i really want to incorporate some of the crazy trouble he got up to when i first made him in his backstory, but i'll have to see what i'll do!

i didnt realize you stopped using twitter and when my annual urge to replay cc hit i opened steam the night the dlc released like HELLO. thanks for beaming that directly into my brain i guess! i know you mentioned Ages ago you were looking into porting it to switch is that still something being developed or? (NOT to push you or anything i appreciate yall so much artemis and co have lived rent free in my brain for the last 3 or 4 years) apologies if youve answered this b4 i dont use tumblr </3

yes... my twitter account.... [looks wistfully off into the sunset] the funny thing is that i genuinely use twitter ALL the time (private twitter things) but i've been apprehensive to go back and use my game dev twitter, and i fear that since i've been inactive for so long, my reach is gonna be sooo shit. so i'm trying to figure out what i'm going to do about that... because it's getting to the point that i either have to delete the whole account and start a new one, or try really hard to revive it. i feel like i'll need to post art very frequently in order to get it back up and running well so let's see if i can get into the groove enough to do that hahaha.

anyways, yes! the switch port! so here's what's happening with that— after i ported the game to xbox, i initially had a contract to port it also to switch and playstation. this is a very, very expensive process and currently i don't have enough money to continue with it all... so i'm waiting a little while for the dlc funds to accrue before i go and see if my porting house will be willing to pick the project back up. i actually can't recall the amount of money that i need to get it going again, but once i get there, i'll let everyone know the next moves :-)

hello bunni!!! these are great questions indeed... i will answer both!

for kurou, his favorite domestic thing to do for his partner would be cooking for them. i've previously talked about how much he loves to cook and how he's pretty much in charge of the majority of the artehouse meals, and he's really good at cooking too! he likes to see you eating well. and it's kind of like this pride thing too, hahaha, getting to see you really enjoy something that he made. like yes... eat it... enjoy it... be nice and healthy because of the food i made for you...

for artemis, their favorite domestic thing would be showering together. or taking baths together! but if you take a bath with them, they'll always fall asleep bahahaha. they find showering together to be such an intimate and romantic thing and they looove doing it. if you played the dlc, there's a cute scene where the two of you shower together that i really enjoy. i think it's either that or they really like tucking you in at night, even if it's cheesy.

as for semi-public sex.... kurou LOVES it. i've mentioned before that one of his favorite kinks is semi-public sex because he loves the thrill of being caught or seen or heard. he also loves to play with toys in public because he is evil and horny and loves to make things exciting for the both of you at the expense of everyone else around him.

artemis is much more reserved in this sense, but it's funny that you mention sex in a changing room because they have this huge fantasy to have sex in a changing room lol. other than that, i think they would be generally adverse to semi-public sex initially, but if you were really excited about it, they wouldn't be able to resist you. they'll try out nearly anything if you ask them to, and maybe even discover some things about themself in the meantime!

Hello nukes! I’m a recent fan of cryptid coffeehouse cuz I found it on itch- but oh my goodness. Vns that have your level of detail and being fully completed? RARE! I enjoyed every second of it and I’m completely smitten with Artemis, I couldn’t help spoiling them every chance I got because I believe that’s exactly what they deserve, thank you for such a wonderful game!! I can’t wait to see what you might make in the future :3 you are invited to my and Artemis’ wedding

hello! i just downloaded the afterparty dlc on steam, is there a specific way to trigger it? at first i just loaded up an older save near the end but that didn’t work, so i replayed the game in full but it still won’t trigger.

is there something that i have to do in game to start it? or something in settings?

basically, the issue is something on my end— i can’t get the dlc files to install in the correct spot in the game build for some reason and it’s driving me completely nuts. you do own the dlc and it did install, but just in the wrong spot. i’m at work right now, but when i get home i’m going to try and fix it, so in the meantime, use this workaround:

right click on cryptid coffeehouse in steam and hit manage > browse local files

locate the files "dlc.rpy," "dlc.rpyc," and the folder titled "the afterparty dlc" and then drag them into the folder titled "game"

from there, when you load the game up, it should say it's installed

i think i figured out a different way to fix the issue, rather than what i’ve been doing before, but this’ll have to work for now before i can actually fix it. sorry guys! steam is the worst to put stuff onto which is why i was so against putting the dlc up on there at first 💔💔

update on this... i fixed it 🫶🏾 you shouldn't have to do a crazy workaround to get the dlc to work now, just let steam install the new version of the base game and everything should be okay! if that's not the case, please do let me know o_o thank you all for your patience!!!

a lot of delicious sexual tension with artemis that lasts hours

and an incredibly interactive and customizable sequence of sex scenes! yay!!!

with this dlc release, cryptid coffeehouse is finally complete... like for real this time. i want to take the time to thank everyone for being so kind, so awesome, and just so patient with me throughout the year-long development process of this dlc. all of you are so incredible and you all mean so much to me! thank you so much, i mean that from deep within my heart!

in another assorted dlc news, lots of people have asked me about card payments since itch only has paypal available due to that whole nsfw delisting situation they have going on right now. initially, i was intending for the dlc to itch-exclusive, but i've received enough messages in the past 12 hours or so asking about it that i'll put the dlc on steam too for better accessibility. it'll take a few extra days because of the steam reviews, but i will get started adding it to steam once i get home from work tonight (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

since i'll be adding this paid dlc to steam, i'm going to offset that cost by making the main game free on steam as well! so from whenever this dlc is cleared to release on steam, the base game will be free to download on all desktop platforms. hopefully this will make it a little easier for you guys to play the game! i don't ever want to make it hard for y'all to experience the work i'm sharing.

for those who have played already, thanks so much!!! i hope you've had fun so far ^_^ i'm so happy to have this out, so really i'm thrilled i'm getting so much positive feedback already. yay! i appreciate you guys sooo much, thank you so much for being so awesome :-) <333

update on this! i've pushed the v3.2 update to the steam build, and the dlc has been sent in for review. i think the entire process will take about three weeks or so (3-5 days for review, 2ish weeks before earliest release date), but surely by the end of the month the dlc will be accessible on steam as well! my request for switching the game from paid to free has also been submitted :-)

it's been so long since i've pushed a new package onto steam that i forgot just how long the process actually takes... but soon there will be options for y'all! for now we've got itch, and i'll keep everyone updated as the dlc works through the review process!
