hey everyone. i know i haven’t said anything in here, as i haven’t been on here in awhile. please: read everything i’ve typed up below. it’s important.
if you do not support black lives matter, block me. if you support all lives and / or blue lives matter, block me. i will not stand for that ignorant, racist shit. do not say “NoT aLL cOpS” or “wHaT aBoUt ThE gOoD cOpS.” remember, all cops are bastards who willing became part of a racist, corrupt institution built off the oppression of black ppl. reforming the police is not enough. abolish the police, with the billions of dollars no longer being put towards policing being redistributed within the community.
do not say “sTiCk To SpOrTs” or i will block you. this is more important than hockey.
sign petitions. donate if you can. if you can’t, there’s youtube videos you can watch where the ad revenue goes towards different funds & you can share links to funds. protest if you are able to. educate yourself & you friends & family. call out racism, whether it’s a friend, family member, co-worker, or someone online. share the work of black artists, creators, & business owners. read books, articles, & papers by black people about the systemic racism & oppression they & millions of others have had to face since slavery. amplify black voices.
remember to check your privilege. just because you as a non-black person haven’t been the victim of police brutality, doesn’t mean that it’s not real or serious. if you say something & someone calls you out on it, listen to them. don’t speak over black people. as i said earlier, use your platform (no matter how big or small) to amplify.
i’m going to link a site that has funds, petitions, contacts, and educational resources in this post. in the comments i will link to more websites and sources (they will be with my main user johnmarinoh, as you can’t reply with side blogs). please post some too.
this isn’t a political issue, it’s a human rights issue. black people deserve equal rights & should not have to still be fighting for them, after doing so for hundreds of years. no one should have to be afraid pull their phone out of their pocket or walk down the street or be pulled over or leave their house. everyone deserves to feel safe, secure. not all lives can’t matter until black lives matter.
