An update

Well, this is awkward.

So, it’s been well over a year since I’ve kind of disappeared into the void. There are a lot of reasons why, but I don’t want to bore anyone with all that nonsense. And I know it’s probably pretty obvious by now, but I figured I should officially come out and say this.

I’m abandoning Vermillion.

Again, there are a lot of reasons why and I won’t get into all of them, but I guess the main reason is that I just feel completely detached from the story. I started it in 2018 and since then I’ve grown a lot as a person and as a writer, and there are so many things that have changed in my life since then that the story itself feels like it belongs to someone completely different.

I’m still writing a lot, though the vast majority of it has gone unpublished except for some of my Untamed/Mo Dao Zu Shi fics which I’ve been posting under the username bichenqings, and I haven’t been posting there recently either because I wanted to say all of this first (and anxiety has been keeping me from doing it lol).

I’ll probably start publishing to my Nyxako account again some time in the future, but I doubt I’ll be keeping up with my Tumblr. My discord ID is Starlight#5067 though, so if anyone wants to chat or anything, my messages are always open.

Thank you to everyone who has commented on Vermilion in the past. It really means so much to me, and I’m sorry that I let you guys down.

Author ask: Which of your stories gets the most attention and why? Which of your stories do you wish got more attention?

Hmm, I would say that my GaaSaku fic Vermilion gets the most attention, probably because it’s a long ongoing story that I’ve been working on for like two years lol. As for stories I wish got more attention... I think I’d probably say Against Fate. It’s a KakaSaku soulmates fic that I wrote for an event, and I’m actually pretty proud of the spin I took on the whole soulmates thing. I had a whole world planned around it with other pairings that I just never got a chance to write.

°✧∘˚I’ve loved your KakaSaku stories the first time I read them. The way you approach Kakashi and Sakura’s relationship and write about it in a very intimate way in every story—I’ve still got images of Sakura and Kakashi making up lines to the movies they watch when Kakashi can only hear her. That jutsu concept was amazing and so poignant in the execution! Thank you for your part in making this fandom what it is today ❤°✧∘˚

Thank you so much! I always feel really nervous about my KakaSaku fics because I don’t feel like I portray them nearly as well as a lot of the amazing writers for this ship, so this really means a lot to me.

Hey everyone, Nyxako here!

I’m sorry for the radio silence. A lot of things were going on in my life (new job, moved, health stuff, broke up with my boyfriend of six years, moved again) but I’ve finally gotten to a place in my life where I’ve been able to write more often.

Which means: Yes, I WILL be updating Vermilion soon.

I’ve also been writing other things too, though, and I’ll be posting those along with new Vermilion chapters.

I’ve got another KakaSaku fic, some BNHA Kacchako fics, a Mystic Messenger fic planned for the future, and a few Dragon Age fics that I will be posting on my AO3 pseudo, ForbiddenOasis.

I’m so excited to finally be able to post for you guys again soon ;o;
