A scream, screechy and loud, echoed through the House of Lamentations. Levi paused, confusion washing over him, before shrugging it off. He regretted the choice to not wear his headphones, even if he was in the safe space of his own room, though all it caused was a two-second pause in his anime marathon. Then again, he wouldn't have been able to hear the fast-approaching steps down the hall, or feel that dread that built up as he realized that they were heading to his room.

The door slammed open, causing Levi to flinch. He scrambled to pause his laptop, and turned to face the intruder.

Asmodeus, shaking with rage while in his demon form, clutched his phone close to his chest.

"A-Asmo! What'd I say about entering my room!?" Seriously, what was the point in having a password to keep normies out if they just break down the door?

"You...!" he seethed, "I can't believe you! Oh, you've really done it this time!"

"Huh? What did I do?" Levi had been busy catching up on this season's new anime. He even took the day off from school! At the cost of extra chore duty, sure, but it was worth it! Levi had a whole schedule planned for the day, right down to the minute, to make sure he caught up on everything. He even included selection time, possible lag, and needed bathroom and snack brakes.

So yeah, Levi didn't have time to do whatever Asmo was accusing him of. He didn't even have time to concern himself with this, because now he was thirty-seconds—and counting—behind.

"You totally rigged the popularity poll! I mean, Henry? Really!?"

"Woah, woah, slow down! I have no idea what you're even talking about," Levi said. His eyes flickered to his screen—almost a minute had passed now, and he needed to get back to it, stat. "But can this wait until later? I'm really busy right now, and-"

"And you think I wasn't? I had the whole day planned—I was ready to go shopping, get my nails done, relax at a spa—but instead, I checked what the Newspaper Club had posted, and I saw this!"

The phone was shoved into Levi's face. It took a second for him to readjust, to focus on what Asmo was trying to show him, but once he saw it.

"Pff…" He couldn't help it; he laughed.

Because there was a poll asking people to vote for who the cutest demon was in the Devildom, and out of the seven options, Asmo made up six of them. The last one?

Henry 2.0. Who was winning by a landslide.

"It isn't funny!" Asmo whined, going so far as to stomp his foot. He probably would be pouting if he had any of his fan club members around. "Someone listed your dumb fish on here and now everyone's choosing it as a joke! I'm losing to a goldfish!"

Now, Levi knew there were things that he should be upset about; those feelings would probably hit him later on in the day. Henry 2.0 was cool, not cute, and the difference was important. Asmodeus was currently insulting his best friend, and Levi wouldn't put it past Asmo to at some point snap and attack Henry. And most importantly, he was now many, many minutes behind schedule.

But he couldn't help it—he continued to laugh. Levi couldn't contain the laughter that bubbled up inside of him when he thought about Henry, his Henry, winning against Asmo in what was basically a popularity contest. That people were voting for his best friend over the Avatar of Lust.

He laughed harder, tears starting to spring from his eyes.

"I can't believe you'd do this to me!" he yelled. "Do you know what people are going to say now? People think a fish is cuter than me! Me!"

"I—I didn't do any of this," Levi breathed out in between fits of laughter. "I've been bu-busy. No time."

Asmo took a long, deep breath. "Okay," he said, slowly. Calmly. In a perfectly normal way. He flashed Levi a toothy smile. "I'm going to go down to the Newspaper clubroom. I am going to find out who did this and have a little chat. If Lucifer asks, tell him I'm out on a cute date with Solomon, m'kay?"

Levi did his best to catch his breath and even his breathing. He gave a shaky thumbs-up."

"Okay. Good."

Asmo, still with that smile painted on his face, turned on his heel and took slow, deliberate steps out the room. 

Just as he left, Mammon poked his head in. He watched Asmo for a second, before turning to Levi.

"What was that about?"

At any other moment in time, Levi would yell at Mammon to get out of his room. Instead, he pulled out his phone, and found the poll posted by the Newspaper Club in ten seconds flat. More giggles bubbled out of him from just seeing it again.

He handed off the phone to Mammon, and in no time at all, he started howling in laughter.

in case you dont know: in a brief explanation, a big bang is where writers will come in with a fic idea (sometimes the event is themed, or will be opened to anything), with the minimum of 10k words (mini big bangs being a minimum of 5k i believe?), and an artist is assigned to that writer (they get to choose the piece they like obv) and make fanart based/inspired from said fic.

in case youre wondering, I probably won't do this --- at the VERY least not in recent time since im busy rn. because i would have to learn things like how to be a mod (never moderated any event before lol) and id have to understand how discord works to set up an area for the participates lol buuuuut idk its been an idea I've been rotating in my head for a while now bc I dont think obey me has had a big bang? At least not in recent times that I know of lolol

He can cook delicious meals, so much so that he has a successful café.

LISTEN. I am here to convince you that Barbatos is not only the best wife...but the best Mother.

In this fandom, when we talk about being a malewife, the one that will inevitably come to mind is always Barbatos.

Why is it inevitable you ask?

Barbatos in the entirety of the Obey me to be a butler, one capable of cooking, cleaning, and tending to the young master's needs.

Not only that, He goes to the market himself to fetch for ingredients, always the one to keep the little d's in line and not slack off. The pictures above even show his obvious concerns for the mc, and whenever he notices the mc being exhausted he always suggests something soothing be it a charm or a tea to calm your mind.

His entire job is literally what defines a malewife ;Someone who takes on a domestic role and the one who usually stays at home.

Now as for the best "Mother" bit,

Ever since Diavolo was young, Barbatos was already by his side watching him grow. In Lesson 58-A it was then explained on how he became Diavolo's butler. "he became Diavolo's butler after Diavolo lured him into the Demon Lord's Castle with the promise of rare cheshire cat grass tea. He then told Barbatos that he'd not allow him to leave until he agreed to be his butler."

It is my take on this, But Barbatos always was shown to enjoy taking care of others. Seeing that the young prince just wanted him to stay so badly, Was in a way, a flattery.

Barbatos could leave with a portal with no effort at all and Diavolo wouldn't be able to stop him, But Barbatos chose to stay.

And gradually, then grew a soft spot for him.

To the point that even Thirteen of all people, had to point out that he is "babying" Diavolo too much to the point of risking dependency.

And I know all of you are familiar with this, the running gag between Diavolo sneaking out of the palace, running away and Barbatos tailing him and being strict. Or dare I say..— 'Helicopter parent'

And even though Barbatos may seem super strict (which he is) he still means well!

Because you know what made him happier more than anything?
