I'm trying to prep some new/official reference sheets for Twain and their celestial babysitters for artfight. And in that process I unintentionally gave Anael a redesign which is honestly for the better.
In its original design I tried leaning into a Gold/Blue theme, but that resulted in giving them straight up yellow skin and a very cold color scheme. Anael is NOT a Simpsons character so for this redesign I gave them a kind of "golden"(?) skin tone and added warmth. (Old design ⬇️)

Character Profile
A mechanic who acts as the primary ‘doctor’ figure among the robots. Channelle is tired and rather reserved, yet she plays up a far more expressive personality to bring levity to her patients.
While the player often spots her treating the others kindly, she has little energy to spare for the player and thus comes off as grumpy and distrustful. In fact, the first time the player passes by the medical wing expect her to slam the door closed in your face as you near a patient’s room.
Channelle is often somewhere in the medical wing, which includes her workshop. Should she find time to relax, she likes to watch the people she’s sacrificed so for and join in the occasional leisure activity.
Relationships
Kohn - Confidants.
They are extremely close, sharing many of the same views and a generally dry personality off the clock. The two frequently seek each other’s company to talk, both for leisure and regarding work, but are just as comfortable hanging out in silence.
Having watched others come and go before him, she knows what his position has cost over the years. The fact that he continues to carry on without complaint is something she has a good deal of sympathy for.
They also work on a side project together that the player can piece together through the environment. Kohn approached her about creating a leg model that other robots could use to replace faulty limbs. They have since continued to develop and test duplicates of the current model he uses in their spare time.
Garrett - Quite a kind fellow. Who knew you could use more arms when you already have four? She’s glad he takes menial tasks off her hands and can run about to different departments for her when she’s too busy to do so.
She thinks he’s a wonderful conversationalist and his mellow nature is a balm to her busy work day. Still, he has a tendency to fret over one thing or another, and she’s quick to intervene before he spirals.
Sydney - She tries to be a friendly face in her life, even if the two don’t see each other too often. Sydney becomes easily flustered and flighty when Channelle compliments her for stellar work and has snuck a few gifts onto the mechanic’s desk in gratitude.
Roswell - A co-worker. Among the engineers, he's the only remaining one but at least he's from the more tolerable half. She still finds him a bit stuck up, but he’s a nice second pair of eyes to have when working on projects.
Trivia:
- Her dialogue when the player interacts with her may not necessarily match the same degree of enthusiasm as her facial expressions. Some of the facade she puts on must’ve bled into her everyday expressions…
- Channelle’s face is deadpan by default and she often closes an eye when thinking. I love to tilt that expression at a diagonal, but it doesn’t translate to pixels very well, unfortunately.
- She doesn’t particularly mind getting her sleeves dirty. She’d prefer the stains to be on work shirts than having to deal with scrubbing it off her plating, after all.
- Channelle favors her upper pair of arms for most tasks, though she’s able to use all four fluidly. Usually, she’ll fold her lower arms to keep them out of the way and uses them to carry spare or bulky materials.
- She charges on a cot near her desk by plugging a power cable into the back of her head.
- In her original design, her exposed joints were copper but it was kind of a pain to draw so I pulled her sleeves down.
- Songs I associate with her: No Surprises by Juliana Chahayed, Rises the Moon by Liana Flores, and Equation by Hans Zimmer and Camille.
