after taking a bullet to the shoulder, simon was sent to a hospital on base for some rest. he hated hospitals. especially for a minor injury.

he noticed you immediately. a new nurse, always seeming slightly stressed yet with a small smile always.

you also took notice of simon fast. nobody ever visited him. ever. which made you so sad. you started spending your spare time with him, chatting with him and always asking him about himself.

at first, he was suspicious and dry. barely responded. mostly listened to you yap about your day. he couldn’t say he hated it.

over his few days stay, you became the best part of his day. one day, as he ate his tasteless hospital lunch, you came to eat with him.

“how is it?” you asked softly, sipping your coffee.

simon nearly rolled his eyes, “shitty.” he answered.

you felt bad. he was a lonely guy eating shitty food whilst trapped in a shitty, bland hospital. so, you tried your best to bring him a little joy.

the next day, you brought him a home cooked meal for lunch. you hoped he’d like it, having spent a lot of time working on it.

when you handed it to him, he didn’t have much of a reaction. or so it seemed. inside, his heart swelled for the first time in years.

simon thanked you, enjoying the meal alongside your company. he loved your cooking, yet it was almost too embarrassing for him to admit.

the day he left, you decided to be brave. you asked for any contact information he had.

years later, you cooked a meal for him nearly everyday. he still loves your cooking, just as much as the day he first tried it.

when the gang realized you had fled on purpose, arthur was heartbroken. he couldn’t believe you left him. he thought you two had something special.

arthur tried to save your image, reassuring the rest of the gang you'd be back soon with loads of money to share. over time, it became his truth.

when he began hearing about you, he felt a sense of pride and dread. why hadn't you come back to him with your success? at some point, arthur came to the glum realization you weren't coming back.

he was angry. he loved you. how could you leave him? he makes himself believe someone must've manipulated you into this. you're too sweet, you needed his protection.

arthur would hunt you down until he had nowhere else to look. when he finds you, he practically drags you out of wherever you are, lecturing you about how it wasn't safe without him.

no matter your reaction, you're coming back to camp with him. if you keep resisting, he won't leave your side. he'll watch you, make sure you don't leave him again.

arthur loves you so much! why would you want to ever leave him? he won't allow it.

arthur understood you. he’d been in a similar situation as you. he never gave up on trying to help you.

arthur would try his best to earn your trust. he took his own money to buy you new clothes. he got sad watching you prance around in what was practically torn up rags.

once you trust him a little more, arthur would try to teach you how to read. you took him up on the offer. whenever he had free time, he’d help you read through children’s books.

when arthur had gotten a rather minor injury on his arm, he decided to ask you about it. he almost interrogated you about yourself as you patched him up.

when he asked why you chose your career, your answer stuck out. “i just like to help people.” at first, he didn’t believe you. when he talked to you more, he knew it was true.

arthur felt an overwhelming urge to protect you and your sweet nature. it was a rough world, he knew that. he knew, or assumed, you couldn’t survive on your own.

the more he learned about you, the more fixated he became. he’d take the tiniest injury as an excuse to come visit you. he felt so warm and fuzzy, like he was a boy whenever your soft hands patched him up.

expect constant gifts from him. if he sees or finds anything he thinks you’d like, he’ll come back with it.
