It’s Menagerie Monday!

Post a pic of your menagerie, a recently hatched pet, a profile you just did up, a new pet accessory, anything! :)

For this MM…… after a long, expensive month (it’s taken me 32 days and approx. 90k potatoes), I’ve finally maxed Presh’s affection and she’s evolved!

I prefer her original pink form but the blue does look cool with her accessory. I have the option to “devolve” her if I want to. I don’t know if I would say the time and money I spent maxing her was “worth it”; I might put up a thoughts thread later (I would like to see some sort of reward for getting halfway, or each time you get a heart, etc). I also tracked a bunch of data that I wanted to share, and maybe throw together a quick mini-guide.

As a reminder, I put together a spreadsheet of all the pets, hatch times, pet alchemy recipes, possible future pets from streams, and now the pet evolutions! Because URL manipulation counts as datamining, I’m only including the evolved pets that I have seen on site. So it’ll slowly be filled out as more people evolve their pets (if you’ve seen one not on the sheet yet, please let me know!!).

Dappervolk Newbies: Things to Keep in Mind

Are you planning on registering later today (Mar 31: 9 pm - 12 am EST) or during one of the upcoming open registration periods? Welcome!!

Here are some things to keep in mind:

This is a beta test. Everything will be wiped at the end of it, except for your username and ID. This includes your quest progress, pets, friends, forum posts, avatar, potatoes (site currency), etc. You will be able to remake your avatar when the site launches. There is no current end date for beta though it most likely will approximately be 2 months from now. *NOT CONFIRMED*

This is a beta test. Things will break. We are here to let the staff know so they can fix them. \o/ Make notes of things that seem off, write down your opinions, make a first impressions thread, etc!

The site clock is actually in PST, not EST. Make sure you are prepared to register at the correct time. For example, tonight(Mar 31)’s open reg period starts at 9 PM EST, which is 8 PM CST, or 6 PM PST. 

A lot of common questions have already been answered in multiple areas, and there are a lot of already known bugs. To cut down on forum spam, make sure to check out the Beta FAQs thread as well as the Known Bugs thread, both updated by DV staff.

If you want to see sneak peeks, get quest help, see data, or learn more, there are a TON of user created guides out there! Here is a masterlist I’ve put together. There are also a bunch of resources on my Tumblr!

(MILD SPOILER) There will be quests that require you to post on the forums. Please don’t spam the forums. (It’s actually against the rules.) Write a simple introduction post, find a thread to post on, or participate in one of the many forum games!

New content will be coming soon! There will be two new towns plus a sitewide event. We don’t know exact dates but anticipate they will be coming in the next few weeks! Check out the news post here!

Last but certainly not least, you are always welcome to ask questions if you need help and you weren’t able to find an answer elsewhere. There’s an extremely active Discord, and you’re also welcome to reach out to myself (come visit me @ 33!) or to the kind folks on the forums.

Who’s excited?! Here are our Official Beta Launch Dates!!

There’s been some confusion about whether or not you can play even if you don’t have a beta invite key, and we’d like confirm that you can!

Above are the launch dates for headstart key holders, standard beta key holders, and the general public! If you don’t have a key, you’ll be able to register only during the sign up windows which are open for a limited amount of time.

We’ll be announcing more open sign up windows around mid March!

Please anticipate possible lag or server outage during our initial launch times! If the site is down for an extended period of time during an open sign up window, we’ll be extending the window or re-opening it once the site is stable again.

We’ll see you in Beta! Help us spread this news far and wide by reblogging if you can! :)
