our new job launched its mandatory ai transcription program designed to streamline our workflow and not only does it melt down the moment it has to transcribe non-white customers but it keeps hallucinating the existence of a mysterious boy named dorian who shows up in every third call summary
caller got into a car accident on their way to work? their nonexistant son dorian was hurt. got kicked out of a bar and broke their ankle? their son dorian was the one who broke it. i now spend more time having to de-dorian the call summary than if i had just written it myself. really funny. we're required to use this now

I MISS YOU CASTIEL COME BACK THIS IS NO LONGER FUNNY
i have to feel weird and unsure of everything forever #thecurse
actually fucking disgusting that glasses cost any money like if you actually think about it for more than a few seconds it is so unconscionably inhumane. this goes for things like insulin and mobility aids and hearing aids too ofc but fuck man, fucking glasses? the thing you need to fucking see? its genuinely sickening and inhumanly evil that those cost ANYTHING.
Dean is loved. And he’s known it for 2,000 days (1,000 days ago)
me after a minor inconvenience: i hope i get hit by a [remembers i’m anti car-centric infrastructure] pedestrian
remember to bury the dead with a phone, everyone. these days the ferry terminal at the river styx wants you to download a fucking app
so exhausted by how fundamentally anti-human the capitalist world has become. like ageing, getting fat, being slightly inefficient, and making mediocre art are all extremely normal and extremely human activities, why is every corporation trying to convince us to spend all our money fighting that
I love watching PHM in an aroace lens. I love how Grace is a main character with no romantic partner and no real desire to find one. I love how the story doesn't present Grace as lacking something fundamental bc he doesn’t want a romantic partner. I love how this makes him seem expendable to Stratt bc he has no connections, and thus no one to mourn him. (And here, I could argue that Stratt was looking for any justification for herself, and that she knew she had to make him go, and that she had to ignore that maybe she would be the one to mourn him.)
I love how the story still presents it as an injustice that Grace was forced against his will to die on a suicide mission, even without these strong relationships. I love how the story presents this as an evil that still must be done to save humanity. I love how Grace finds his courage not in a lover but in a friend. I love how he turns back from safety and certainty to make sure his friend lives. I love how the story ends. I love how Grace finds fulfillment not in romantic partnership but in friends.
And so, the woman dies. The woman dies so the man can be sad about it. The woman dies so the man can suffer. She dies to give him a destiny. Dies so he can fall to the dark side. Dies so he can lament her death. As he stands there, brimming with grief, brimming with life, the woman lies there in silence. The woman dies for him. - The Woman Dies by Aoko Matsuda
I mean it’s kinda the real life tragedy of love exaggerated, innit? Irl people die young or one person dies old and another person dies even older. At the end of it all someone gets left behind and has to learn how to move on after that. And for the one who dies you know you’re leaving them behind. You know you’re dooming them to moving on and if you believe in an afterlife god only knows how long you’ll be waiting for them on the other side. The tragedy of the immortal loving the mortal takes those feelings we all know about and rips your heart out about it.
