I’m a skeptic who believes heavily in the scientific practice, but also believes in questioning everything and never taking anything as entirely true. Half life of knowledge and so on and so forth. So I was wondering if you could list different areas of magic and any personal favourite references so that I might be able to research further. If not for a universal truth, but to incorporate it in my writing at the very least. Thank you, love the blog

In modern society there are a few areas of occultism that have been explored adequately by science. Some of these major topics would be trance(somnambulism), the mysteries of placebo, noetics, the use of palmistry in medicine, archetypal psychology(via Carl Jung) and of course quantum physics (Thomas young’s infamous double slit experiments). This blog was created at least in part as a compendium of esoteric authors. Some books I’d recommend for your cause in particular: Manly P. Hall’s The Secret Teachings of All the Ages, The Kybalion ( a lot of axioms in there that have been proven universal by modern physics), and Deepak Chopra’s Quantum Healing to begin with. These are choices I believe will aid you. My favorites, on the other hand, are best reserved for a different question :) I did not list any grimoires, because most of them assume faith in the practitioner. But remember, all of Magick is a science and any magician worthy of praise do their experiments using scientific method. So I’d say the best way to learn about magick, is to practice and experience the truth of it. Some things can’t be described in words. Then again, much can.

Could you explain The Enochian System, The Solomonic System, Santeria, Spiritism, Fae Magick, etc??

I will probably explain some of them in future posts. Some stuff (like Santeria) requires an initiation to proceed. I’m sorry to say, but for now you’re going to have to do your own research to decide which you will want to investigate. Google/Wikipedia is a great jumping off point for further inquiry. How do you summon a Demon???

The word Demon is usually associated with ethereal entities that thrive off hatred and malice. So if this is what you meant, I would not suggest it, as it would be dangerous and require advanced protection practices. As for entities in general, you would do well to know there are various techniques that would put you in contact with powerful entities some of which would be: The Enochian System, The Solomonic System, Santeria, Spiritism, Fae Magick, etc. All of these are known as Advanced Magickal techniques, meant for seasoned practitioners. If you are adamant that you are sufficiently prepared as a magician, find a system you feel comfortable with, and learn as much as possible about the system and nature of the entities before actually doing any summoning. Again, I usually would include more information as to a general technique, but for this I’m very tentative because of the psychic risks involved. Hi! Big fan of your blog! I was wondering if you knew anything about Wicca? I want to even out my altar which has more dedication to the mother than to the father, do you know some good masculine representations I can add to even it out? Sorry if this is weird, I'm just getting started (._.)

That’s very kind, thank you. To answer your question, Wicca is an impeccable path of spirituality immersed in Nature. So when looking for representations you can always look to the natural forms of masculine and feminine energy. The Father/Divine Masculine is usually connected with The Sun, so any depiction of the sun in its almost infinite cultural representations would be a great start. 

The Divine Masculine is also synonymous with the sky. Feathers are a strong choice to represent this. If you can get a hold of a meteorite, that would be even stronger. Crystals generally can be used to represent the Mother/Goddess, but if you can get your hands on Sunstone, Pyrite or Citrine they make great references to universal masculine energy. 

Finally, I’ll leave you with the secret to all masculine energy symbolism: the phallus. Literally you can throw everything I just said out and only go with that rule and you’d be right 99.9% of the time. This includes but is not limited to: animal horns, wands, sticks of any kind, pillars (of all sizes), knives, swords, an actual depiction of a penis (clay, wood, silicone, all apply), staffs, an obelisk, etc. Basically anything that is long and slender.

Anybody good with crystals?

Anybody know crystals meanings, like if I pair crystals?

I got a gift years ago that included crystals.

The 4 green ones are aventurine, the 2 black are obsidian, the crystal point is quartz, and the dark sharp one is jade. (The light green one is see through and has sparkles. Somebody said Moss agate, but I don’t think they glitter?)

I just want to know what the person was trying to help me with/their intentions? I did my research on the stones and everything but I am bad at interpreting what the can all mean together (or in groups).

The Aventurine is usually associated with manifestation and healing, as well as Jade for abundance, prosperity, and healing. The Obsidian are great for protection but also help uproot past trauma. The Clear Quartz is for mental clarity, but is also known as the Queen of All Crystals, as many crystals are a form of quartz. Aventurine for example (green quartz). So when paired with other crystals it's a medium and amplifier. These crystals when together hold a protective, healing energy meant to target the energies of The Heart Chakra and the Root Chakra and pull their energy up and through the Crown Chakra. The Obsidian helps you move through your past while protecting you in the present. The Aventurine and Jade add physical healing and abundance/prosperity in material needs. Finally the Quartz brings them together and acquaints them with your energy, giving them them the ability to provide mental clarity as an end goal. Introduction to the Chakras

One of the most important concepts sweeping the vast settings of global consciousness are that of the energy centers within our body. These bio-energetic centers have been called many names throughout the world, but are mostly attributed to the ancient, esoteric, and shamanic Indian spiritual beliefs, The Hindu Tantra. Out of the many profound wisdoms that are revealed by this dynamic mystical practice, it is the mysterious energy vortexes that have had the most practical application in today’s currents of esoterica.

Some facts about the “Chakras” :

- The word “chakra” (pronounced chuk-rah) translates most closely to “wheel” in the English language. Therefore a chakra is best considered a wheel or vortex-like organ of the subtle energetic body.

-  In traditional Chinese medicine, the seven energy wheels are connected on an energetic pole of light energy called the Taiji Pole. The individual names for each chakra are: Huiyin , Mingmen  Jinsuo/Spirit Storehouse, Shendao, Heaven’s chimney/Bige Vertebrae, Yintang/Wind Palace, and Baihui.

- In Islamic Sufism, there are also seven bio-energetic centers acknowledged throughout the body called “The Seven Lata’if.”

Hopefully this will express the universal quality of these energies. The mystical balancing of bio-energetic centers is a global idea spread across many cultures, not just India. Of course, it is important to give respect to the culture that brought it’s wisdom to the forefront of esoteric thought. That being said, the knowledge of the chakras are a human birthright, transcending culture and religion.
