a psa for safe stimming!!

hey there! just a quick psa for when it comes to safely stimming! this means things like soap carving, making slime, playing with floral foam, etc.

for the soap carving (or anything to do with craft knives or just.. knives in general) always cut away from you. i see so many videos and gifs of people cutting towards them, and this is really dangerous! if you slip or over-cut, you have the very real possibility of cutting your thumb.

for slime, etc, always check that the materials you’re using are non-toxic and never eat what you make. always wash your hands after playing with slime and never touch or rub your eyes during playtime! i like to have a pack of wetwipes with me just in case.

and last but not least, floral foam play looks like a lot of fun, but floral foam (as you probably already know) is highly toxic! it contains chemicals that are carcinogenic. please never handle it with your bare skin and always protective gear such as gloves, a mask (so you don’t breathe in anything bad) and eye protective gear. this might sound like a lot, and in my opinion, it’s just not worth playing with! i would stick to safe squishies and stay away from dangerous materials.
