A Romani Turkish man agreed to have his portrait taken after sharing the latest developments about the governments plans on Sulukule, and how there are only a few remaining Romani’s left residing amongst the rubble that was once their neighbourhood.

Most Romani’s are talented musicians and earn a wage by playing in more cosmopolitan areas of İstanbul. This man expressed how much he loved to play but he doesn’t plays any more as his passion had died and how the ‘developments’ are killing the culture of Sulukule.

Taken with Canon EOS 500 SLR - Fuji film ISO 200, the process was in a Fethiye. I don’t think film is used much here any more hence the result.
