her smile is surprisingly gentle for someone with such a harsh criminal record. there’s a hint of pink on her cheeks, a reaction that she wished she could control. never in her life has she felt this level of kindness, and she’s not sure she’s worthy of such attention.  ❝ i hope i’ll like it here. ❞ head ducked in what can only be seen as embarrassment ( a rather rare reaction from the pirate ) she tries to avoid his gaze as much as possible. darlene is unsure how to act when presented with love such as this ------ never has she been given something unconditional, no strings attached and no hidden meanings. ❝ i mean, you’re here, so what’s not to like about it? ❞
