ooc || Ginny & Nick
Okay so. SO EXCITED ABOUT THESE TWO. THEY ARE GOING TO BE SO FUN. But we should talk about high school?? Ginny is a year younger than Liz so she probably would’ve been a freshman when Nick graduated? I’m guessing that’s why she was only nice to him/they started becoming friends there at the tail end of his high school career? But Nick would SERIOUSLY remember it forever. And he probably actually tracked her down when he came back to VA Beach? Since I’m guessing Ginny had fell out of the spotlight a bit? Maybe he wondered what happened and went looking for her and got the full story?? And then they started actually forming a friendship since I’m guessing they were only kind of friends when Nick left for New York? Thoughts??
THEY’RE GONNA BE THE CUTEST FRIENDS. I’M SO EXCITED FOR EVERYTHING. <333
But yeah! We can talk about that! Ginny was still kind of high-society/upper class in HS because her dad wasn’t caught for embezzlement until Ginny was in college, so she’d still be part of that ~elite group with like Liz and everyone.
Though I think even then, Ginny was still really kind and down-to-earth and pretty much would talk to any and everyone. Maybe there was something like Ginny needed tutoring in math? Or Nick was taking a random course for funzies bc he’d already gotten way more than enough credits to graduate, but the school was dumb and required him to be in a seat for a certain number of hours and ended up in some extra-curricular class with Ginny?
Because she’d totally buddy up to him if they ended up sitting next to each other. He was probs pretty quiet, so she’d always be like: “Hey! We have to do this worksheet in pairs, so wanna work together???” And be all smiley and sweet bc in her head she’s like: ‘he’s probably pretty nice, just shy or something!’ And that kind of blossomed into Ginny sitting with him at lunch sometimes if he was by himself, always stopping to talk to him at his locker, just generally thinking he was a cool person and kind of being sad that he was leaving after that year bc she would have liked to know him better.
But yeah, after High School is when he dad got caught and so the Monroe reputation and money all kind of went up in smoke. So Ginny dumped out of college and got a tiny apartment for herself and her lazy lump of a brother and started working a bunch of jobs until she landed at the bridal boutique which def helped pay the bills along with what probably was a bit of a trust fund that idk, maybe her grandmother or somebody put aside for Max and Ginny.
So probably when he comes back, Ginny is like: “oh my god! Nick McLain! I never thought I’d see you again after you went off to the big city! And now you’re super world famous! that’s amazing!!!!!” and like super proud of him even though they weren’t super close just bc she’s always happy when good people have good things happen to them. <3
Oh and they totally start forming a friendship once he’s back in VA Beach. Probably a lot easier, too. Just because they have the time now to like actually do things together if they wanted. And now she doesn’t have the social stuff she has to really deal with anymore, so that leaves more time for other firends obvi. xD
So yeah.... here, have this novel about their epic friendship. uh.
ooc: Ginny and Elaine
Okay! I’ve been mulling around this idea for awhile. So since Elaine has been managing the bridal store for awhile and it’s going awesome, she has been mulling over a party/wedding planning business. You know, come in for your wedding dress, leave with your ENTIRE WEDDING! She’s planning to incorporate all local businesses into the planning, so like make deals with the hotels for discounts on room blocks, get discounts at restaurants for catering, etc. I think she’s come to the point where she starts wanting to make this a reality and, since Ginny rocks and is definitely her best employee by far, I was thinking Elaine would approach her about becoming partners? Unless you had a plan like “omg Ginny hates Elaine forever and is in the middle of a long con to destroy the bridal shop!” Then it might get awkward? Haha
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS AMAZING AND GINNY WOULD LOVE IT AND BE TOTALLY SHOCKED AND EXCITED THAT ELAINE WOULD COME TO HER WITH THIS OMG.
Esp because I feel like Ginny is pretty much aLWAYS HERE FOR PLANNING PARTIES??? So she would be all over helping Elaine out with this. And esp with her old socialite standing, I feel like Ginny would still have a bunch of connections from when she had to help with charity events and things like that, so she’d really readily offer up all of those old relationships with local businesses and things????
Ahaha. omg. Ginny is like, the total opposite of anyone who would do that sort of a long con thing. I think she’s more worried that Elaine’ll fire her someday bc of all the shenanigans that Drew gets into at the shop when he comes to visit Ginny/pick her up after work, tbh. (the constant struggle of having an actual adorable idiot as your boyfriend.)
Ginny: I think I'm in love with you.
Will: ....You mean, as friends????
------
John: I think I'm in love with you.
Ginny: ....You mean, as friends???
Ginny:
John:
Ginny: This feels familiar.
Drew: Awwe, babe! You had a crush on me? That's embarrassing.
Ginny: ....We're dating.
Drew: Still!

“Dammit. I was actually starting to hope for the sexy Orkin thing, because that sounds kinda hot?” He smirked, “Well, that and the fact that – full disclosure – I’m probably going to get you accidentally fired from one job or another and I thought I’d just, you know, go ahead and get that out of the way.”
Sometimes Drew amazed himself that he’d managed to keep his job as long as he had. He was weirdly good at it: he could write when he shut out the distractions (yes, all of his paper clips are clipped together to make a chain that he will use to trip somebody at some point) and he was good with stats. It also helped that he was a huge sports fan … and that his boss had a sense of humor.
He laughed as he put the keys in the ignition and started up the car, “Whoa, wait. Back it up there a second. I’m gonna have to change my mind about the whole sexy exterminator thing, because this is actually sounding way cooler. We do get to have sex again before you kill me though, right?” He laughed at himself, but he hoped she knew it was just a joke. They’d get there again when they were ready. So he cocked his head and raised his eyebrows, “I mean, doesn’t the femme fatale always get to seduce her target first?”
He smirked, “I was actually thinking the whole singing and have people throw trash at us thing, but now that’s sounding a little too predictable. You hungry? What do you say to grabbing some burgers and eating them down at the beach? Maybe swing by and get Darcy first so I can feed him when he’s not looking?”
Ginny threw back her head and laughed loudly, clapping her hands together as Drew smirked over at her. “Only you would actually find a roach exterminator sexy.” She teased, shaking her head at him. “Though don’t mind me being a bit conceited for being totally positive it’s only because your incredibly attractive girlfriend would be the one packing the UV lights and rat poison, instead of it just being a vague fantasy of yours you never shared.”
The girl raised an eyebrow though as Drew continued on, just off-handedly joking that he’d get her in trouble someday. “Oh really? Planning on sticking around long enough to get me fired from my job? Ah do declare, suh! I’m gosh-darned ovahwHELMED!” Ginny put the back of her hand against her forehead and adopting her best southern-belle-charm accent as she fluttered her eyelashes at him.
And yet.... there still was something like a genuine flush that brushed its way across Ginny’s cheeks. After all, she and Drew were completely open with each other. She knew how he had felt about Annie Simmons (and part of her still wondered if his feelings were a bit more present than past tense, even with everything they’d built together over the past few months). So to hear him so casually make allusions to y’know, sticking with her?
It was a small, strange sort of comfort that Ginny found herself wanting to treasure forever. Maybe he really liked her back after all.
“Oh, we certainly would be having sex before I killed you.” Ginny scoffed, giving Drew a look like ‘come on now.’ “What sort of ridiculously bad-ass Black-Widow assassin/spy/Bond Girl would I be if I didn’t seduce you with my undeniable charms and have my way with you before stabbing you in the chest? It’s pretty much the first lesson they teach you in lady-spy school.” The girl grinned widely and let out another chuckle at her own joke.
Ginny glanced over at Drew a moment later though, gaze flickering across Drew’s face as she wondered for what felt like the millionth time if he ever regretted that night. They both had said they didn’t, but how much of that had been politeness or wanting to spare her feelings? Of course, Ginny trusted Drew so so much, that she was certain he’d never lie like that to her. So when he’d broached the idea of the two of them taking it slow from then on out, part of her had been relieved by their mutual agreement to put on the brakes.
There had been something different about that night. She’d felt something that she hadn’t even felt when pining so fiercely after Will--when she’d been so certain that he was the greatest love she’d ever have if he’d only notice her. It had been something deep and raw and, well... beautiful.
And it had scared the living crap out of her.
“Burgers sound almost as good as getting trash thrown at me.” She fake-whined as she nudged the dashboard with a toe. “I was really hoping the teeny-boppers would start getting more creative with what trash they threw at us. But I guess a semi-romantic dinner of burgers and greasy onion rings paired with the sound of crashing waves and screeching gulls isn’t so bad either.” Ginny smiled a little over at Drew. He knew that she actually really liked going on these sort of improptu picnics with him. In fact was pretty much her perfect date. A bit of silly banter, greasy food, watching the sun set before going back to one of their apartments and cuddling as they watched some Netflix? Nothing could have ever beat that.
“I still am going to get you for feeding Darcy, by the way! He’s incorrigible now! Won’t stop begging ever!” Ginny reached over to shove Drew in the shoulder, though perhaps her fingers landed a bit gently as they traced their way to thread between his own. “I know you like to be the cool dad who gets him on weekends and packs him up tight with sugar and red meat. But I’m the one who the vet yells at when he’s overweight. You keep this up, I’m going to make you come along to your furry little son’s appointments so they can meet the true culprit!”
OOC | Ginny & Annie
aaah! Annie is so adorable i just wanna hug her. (tbh i love everyone in this bar forevz.)
But I totally agree with everything you said in your message. They cERTAINLY know each other if she dated Max, esp because like half the time Ginny would be like: “....why are you here? what are you doing? you’re way too good for my brother. I don’t understand this. ...but i guess if you’re happy????”
I think it might be true though that maybe they’re not super close? Like Ginny is always really nice to everyone and basically treats everyone like they’re her best friends even if they’re not? So maybe they just didn’t see each other a whole lot or sort of didn’t go out of their way to hang out/meet up, but still really enjoyed seeing each other at parties and stuff?
Also, as a note, Ginny does know about what happened with her and Drew, because Drew decided he was going to trust Ginny and tell her about it. Now, Ginny hasn’t said anything to anyone about it, bc she figures it’s not her story to tell or really have anything to do with her. But I could also see it now kind of... not changing the way she acts around Annie, but possibly shading it a little bit?
Like def trying to be a bit more protective of Drew around her, though at the same time she has kind of a secret thing in her heart that she would let Drew go if he and Annie decided to make another go at it, even if it would hurt. (which Ginny is increasingly finding that it really rEALLY would.)
idk, i’m rambling now about a lot of different stuff, but yay! Annie and Ginny! They’re gonna be hella complicated and it’s amazing!
OOC | Ginny & John
because i too am trash at responding to messages, here I appear!!!
John is literally the sweetest dude. i can’t handle this rn. bABY BOY IN LOVE WITH HIS BESTIE BUT RESPECTING HER BOUNDARIES OH MAN.
On the other hand, because of that....
Ginny has literally no clue whatsoever that he has a massive crush on her. Like absolutely no idea. (which is hilarious bc oh how the turn tables, with Ginny in Will’s place now. ahahahahahahah)
But I think she seriously appreciates that John has always been there for her. How long do you think they’ve been friends? Was he friends with her pre-her father going to jail? Or more recently?
Bc I could see maybe Ginny having a seriously rough time when she had to drop out of college and everything. She was surviving, I think, but it was pretty much just survival for a good few months for her. And she could totally have used someone kind like John around to help hold her up when things were getting bad and she was having to learn how to live without her high-society security blanket anymore.
Pest Control | Dinny
“Hey, check this out,” Drew said, tapping his hands against the counter to the beat of the song stuck in his head, “It’s Smoke on the Water. Pretty cool, right? Eh?” He gave his girlfriend a stupid grin before turning round to see some mother-of-the-bride-to-be give him a disapproving look.
He had swung by All the Rage Bridal shop to pick up Ginny after her shift, but there had been a rush and had to stay later than she thought. Drew had been confident that he could behave himself … but that had been fifteen minutes ago.
He noted a disapproving look from not only the customers, but Ginny’s manager as well. “… I’ll go wait in the car …”
Windows down and radio up, Drew was sitting “You still have a job and everything right?” He asked, “Because if not, I hear they are hiring down at Orkin and then you could kill bugs instead of me.”
She should have known better than to let him in the store. Really, she should have. After all, Drew Wiesman was many things: tall, handsome, adorably nerdy, and was the owner of a pretty damn soft mop of hair.
But patient? Not so much.
So it came as only a slight surprise to Ginny when she finally clocked out of her shift twenty minutes later to find Drew still in the parking lot keeping himself amused while he waited for her. And, if Ginny was honest with herself, seeing him there sent a gentle warmth seeping through her chest.
God did she really really like this idiot.
“Ehhh, I think Elaine might let me come back tomorrow.” Ginny teased as she approached the car and leaned her forearms on the driver’s side window, grinning widely at Drew. “If only because that lady you were pissing off has been a pain in our backsides for the last two weeks.” She laughed a little before leaning forward and pressing a quick kiss to Drew’s lips. “Plus I think you wouldn’t like me as much if I came around smelling of chemicals with dead roaches in my pockets every day. So I think I’ll pass on becoming the world’s sexiest Orkin man.”
“Then again, a contract for your demise isn’t off the table you know. This whole bridal shop thing could be a cover for my black-market assassin’s trade! Who would ever guess the sweet little blonde ex-socialite who dresses people up in frills would ever know how to wield a katana?!” With a wink, Ginny gently poked Drew’s nose and went around the car to hop in the passenger seat, kicking off her sandals and settling in. “But in all seriousness, tell me, mister tall, dark, and handsome, what grand adventure are we whisking ourselves off to today, hmm?” She grinned over at the boy next to her, subconsciously drumming out the beat of the song on the radio against her thighs.
“Or are we gonna chill in the parking lot all day listening to top 40 hits and seeing how many people throw trash at us for singing badly? Because I’m pretty sure we could beat our last record of five if we really worked hard at it.” Ginny contorted her face into a very exaggeratedly serious expression and shook a fist in the air. “I believe in us and our dedication to the craft of horrifically bad karaoke, if we but set our hearts to such a task!”
OOC | Will and Ginny

WITH THEIR CUTE SNAPCHAT STORIES/STUPID DANCING VINES AND THEIR ONGOING PRANK WAR.
AND HOW THEY P MUCH HAVE LIKE RIDIC HEART-EYES FOR EACH OTHER BUT JUST DON’T WANNA OVERSTEP BOUNDARIES OR PRESS ON OLD WOUNDS.
IT’S THE WORST.
AND I LOVE IT.
ooc | Ginny & Valerie
valerie @ ginny: i know i set you up with an idiot but he’s tall and has soft hair and can be funny i guess. take him and be happy <3
But no, seriously, I think that this is literally Valerie’s dream tbh?? Like they both deserve everYTHINg as far as she’s concerned and they’ve both been hurt (altho idk that she knows about the ginny/will thing??? or maybe she does??) but the fact that they can be soooo happy together is just alfjalsfjalsdfjalsdfkj (altho Valerie is now like @ self: good job for making yourself into a third wheel when you hang out with your friends but okay ;DD)
ginny @ valerie: this is tru. i will gladly accept this offering of yours. now come help me tp his apartment. <3
VAL, THO. BEST BFF EVER FOR GINNY NGL. uGH. Ginny is like forever and a day grateful that she has her tbh, not only for actually shoving her and Drew together finally, but also for just being around her when she was kind of having low times?
I def think she knows about the Ginny/Will thing. Just bc Ginny would want someone to be with her and make sure she didn’t do anything stupid like call Will the next day and be like: “I mEANT IT ALL. WHY DON’T YOU LOVE ME? I AM SWEET AND MY HAIR IS SOFT IDK WHAT MORE U WANT FROM ME. *gross sobbing into the phone for ten minutes*” / cover for her if Will shows up and be like: “GINNY IS DEAD. I BURIED HER IN THE BACKYARD. U CAN’T SEE HER. FUNERAL SERVICES AT EIGHT PM SHARP IN A MONTH. BYEEEEE.” or whatever. ;D
and omg, Ginny would def try her hardest to make sure Val never felt like the third wheel. <3 I think she’s also v conscious about making sure to carve out time that’s just for her and Valerie (or sometimes her/Val/Natalie too). Just so Val doesn’t feel like Ginny is gonna get too wrapped up in being with Drew and forget about her best friend. <3333 Plus tbh, Ginny sometimes rEALLY NEEDS HER CONNORS GIRLS SLEEPOVERS MMK.
tequila + popcorn + netflix + a connors girl on either side = Ginny’s fave place to be tbh. <3
