🚒 Marshall Appreciation Week 2026 🚑
🔥 Day 3 - Favorite Relationships 🔥
I'm doing this one a day late because I got a bunch of things going on in my life since last week and I'm taking a long time to process it all... And I'm back to teaching, so there's that too. Anyway-
I may be biased because it's no secret these three are my favorite half of the main team, BUT... I really like the dynamics between Marshall, Zuma and Rocky.
We don't get to see the three of them together very often, that's true. But it's what makes it funnier, because usually Zuma and Rocky are mostly shown together, at least most of the time, so whenever Marshall would be with one of them, the other would be around too. Not to mention they're often playmates too.
Holy shit the size difference between Marshall and Zuma only INCREASED as the seasons passed by and we moved to the new pipeline, no wonder Zuma has felt so much SMALLER for me lately XDDD
But from these, I can easily say my favorite "duo" at least would be Marshall and Zuma, probably because of a few factors, which also goes a little into headcanons territory:
1- Marshall and Zuma canonly practice aquatic sports together. I find that cool, I can see Marshall really enjoying to spend time with Zuma, getting into Zuma's world, if you will. We know Marshall likes to try new things, outside of his "usual", and Zuma is like, the greatest source of "new things" to do in town XD The energy their breeds share are equivalent too.
2- They have similarities in their jobs, as in Zuma also has to know first aid and how to stabilize someone until Marshall will arrive to the scene (y'know, saving people from drowning and all, this is where it goes into headcanon territory because the show won't show that). I can totally see Marshall helping Zuma to learn all he needs to know, and Zuma looking to him for guidance, rather than Chase, for example.
3- Overall, I just like seeing them together too. They may not interact all that much, but every time they do, it makes me genuinely smile. It's basically my two sweetest faves having a good time together, how can I not smile?
4- Bonus that I just had the biggest grin ever when I saw this scene in the Mighty Movie for the first time, and I just KNEW I HAD TO MAKE A GIF OF IT.
These pups had just gone through some heavy trauma, didn't have exactly time to process it at all... Yet, together, they're finding some bit of joy and having fun with their newfound elemental powers. We know Marshall to be super sensitive and emotionally-driven, so here we literally see how Zuma was able to help him relax and have some fun, despite the shit they went through that same night possibly (and the previous jumpscare Chase gave him a few minutes prior, causing yet another accident which I'm sure Marshall felt really guilty for - he kinda exploded a whole computer, come on, you'd feel guilty too XD).
