Johnny's Jog for Charity where Covenant Prep was one of the beneficiaries...which meant a Sunday work morning for me. Three hours in cold and some rain with Monkey in tow. She spent the whole time up in #bijouwear #decadence ring sling. I don't even ring sling, but this is game changer!
#pavotextiles #confettinoir just returned home from traveling. I forgot how lovely it is--dense, solid, hard stretch, touch o' recoil, pretty even in a slapdash wrap job. Simple pattern is deceiving, the bugger.
Texture on unironed Parterre from @pavotextiles. Mind blowing!!
Pavo Duet Violet We. Love. Purple. This Pavo Duet Violet is such a rich lovely purple. I've always been a fan of Duet, but my Emerald was a little beastly because 1) it was 5.5m 2) I was a less experienced wrapper 3) I think it was a little heftier than this. I'm finding this wraps more like a well broken in Original Duet (or Rhys as others have said). Still sturdy and toddler worthy, but softer and floppier out of the gate so a quicker path to squishworthy. Solid, supportive, a wee bit of stretch. Comfy on the shoulders but not cushy. Enough grip to hold passes and rock a half knot if needed. Monkey approves. I do, too.
Starting out Monday with this visitor from Australia! @pavotextiles Fragment sample is completely gorgeous (there are two versions I just learned!). Gorgeous intricate weave that lends itself to perfect texture and grip. A little dry in hand but wraps like a soapier wrap. Hold a half knot no problem and I think would be forgiving of a super sloppy wrap job. Comfy as hell on the shoulders. We don't typically pink but this has more red undertones so it's a richer reddish pink on the right side while the reverse is a paler pink . #pavotextiles #heypavo #pavosample #pavofragment #wovenwrap #toddlerwearing
Pavo Etini Heather (bottom) and Lovebirds Lavender (top) comps. So gorgeous!!! Both are so soft and floppy. Perfect for all weather but can't wait to snuggle for fall. #heypavo #pavotextiles #alpaca #nofilter #wovenwrap #purplepurple

@pavotextiles Charlotte Noir
Gosh did I come home from IBC with some fun stuff. This tester for Pavo Charlotte Noir accompanied me home and it is truly something special. This is a size 5 which has somehow gone from being my base + 1/2 to my nemesis as Monkey has gotten bigger. So, we went with Shepherd’s with taaaiiillls. Charlotte is a pre-order (completed) for Asia Pavotees and is meant to be good in the hot, humid weather often seen in Asia. They should arrive to their new homes in August.
While this looks like Filigree’s sister, it’s really more of a cousin. It has that reversed warp/weft thing going on, but it’s not as cushy and fluffy as Filigree. It’s thinner and a bit more dense but still seems airy, so perfect for heat referenced above. There is nice stretch that makes the passes nice an moldable (I’m going to ask you to look at my chest in the first and last pic...the girls never look like that!). It has texture due to the weave, but is not overly grippy. The pleats are lovely and there is a bit of that recoil that I love as well. There was a wee bit of dig in the shoulders, but that actually happens often with me and Shepherd’s. As such, I’m going to blame my wrap job and not the wrap for that.
This is a very, very special wrap. While I normally don’t do light colors and I completely #fearthenatty, this is a worthy exception.
Some of The Pavo Society Admin Team at IBC. Not sure what I found so hilarious...
Pavo Rime Teal
@pavotextiles Rime Teal came home with us from IBC and it is so remarkable. This alpaca/cotton blend feels cool to the touch and not nearly as dry as my Etini Darling felt. There’s something a little soapier about it. Rime has the overall microtexture that I love which holds a single knot with no problem, but also allows passes to move into place. It is the cousin of Texture Series for a reason! In some ways, at first blush, it reminds me a bit of Pavo Ring System, which I adore.
There’s a bit of stretch but not a ton. It also has medium moldability so it’s easy to get a decent chest pass but it’s not quite ace bandage material yet. I do think, with a little breaking in, it will get there. It is thin and compact feeling also. In this pic it’s obvious as it’s sitting in a pile of size 6′s and its profile is that much sleeker. Out of the gate, it’s not as floppy and soft as Etini Darling (the only other alpaca/cotton I’ve owned), but I almost like it a bit better because of that cool-to-the-touch feeling.
Obviously, the design is edgy and fun, and while it’s not monochrome, the teal is so rich that it’s almost a neutral. I can’t wait to see how this breaks in.
This pile of @pavotextiles just seems to "go"...
Oh hey, I didn’t see you there…

Ummmm.....yeah.
Our first #bijouwear #abstracthorizon which is so darn thin and lovely! Perfect purse shorty!
Miel Indigo by @pavotextiles is traveling to get it all broken in and lovely for a friend, and came to us so I could test the extent of my wool sensitivity. I don't know what I was expecting--the pics almost looked like taffeta to me, so I expected something slippery. It. is. not. The non-wool part is flat and smooth but not slippery. The wool adds grip, and it's got that workhorse feeling to it while looking like it's gala-ready. Some good pleat-ability (yeah, I made up a word) and solid like a shelf. And the color--it's blue and green together which I never noticed in the spam photos before. I can't get over it. It actually took some work to get a chestpass good and tight...and then Monkey removed all smuggled stuffed animals and it was loose. Sigh. In any case, this is definitely one that turned out to be totally and completely different than I was expecting!
