Rex. I agree with you about Melky. This isn't the minor leagues! Don't be buddies with ex teammates.
SDCC 2016
Well, now that Comic Con is over and it was made clear that Melissa McBride was not invited to go because there werenât enough seats on the stage (!?!?), I was curious if anyone made screen caps of producer Dave Alpertâs onstage input? Are people googling pics of Dave at the con? Are people gushing over Daveâs interactions with the cast and making gifs of it? Did anyone come dressed in Dave Alpert cosplay? No, hmmmâŚ.I guess thatâs because no one gave a shit that he was up there. His seat COULD have been made available to Melissa, one of their original cast members, who brings to screen one of the showâs best performances and who brings in HUGE crowds at her line at other conventions. A woman whose gifs at past Comic Cons are still reblogged daily on Tumblr years after her appearance. A woman who has been the showâs most critically acclaimed actor, portraying a true underdog and inspiration for thousands of abuse survivors.
No offense to Mr. Alpert personally, Iâm sure heâs a nice enough guy (I could have easily inserted any other producer here). Itâs just that I highly doubt anyone (fans or entertainment press alike) would have once asked âHey, I noticed Dave is absent from this yearâs panel. Whatâs that about?â if that seat had been given to Melissa instead.
So true.

What does this Woman have to do to get an emmy!!!
I made a video on TWD Carolâs character arc in Season 6.
Please check it out if youâre a Carol fan, or a lover of Melissa McBrideâs continually fantastic acting chops.
Thank You for that. Great Job!

For serious
I canât get over when Maggie did a floor sweep and knocked dude on his ass. Maggie might be with child but she showed that fragility is not acceptable even in those circumstances. If anything, you have more determination to live and to kill. Maggie didnât cower or back down because she was pregnant. If anything she fought harder, got more ruthless. I like that idea instead of Maggie being coddled or being saved. She fought hard and killed with more savageness than Carol sometimes.
For Carol, one of the most breathtaking moments was when she called the other Saviors to the kill floor, masking her voice like Paulaâs. Just like with the Wolves and wearing a disguise, just like with the Alexandrians and her sweaters, Carolâs ability to think on her feet and adapt herself to whatever mask she needs is outstanding and heartbreaking. How often did Ed beat her and she had to act like everything was okay for Sophia or people around her? How many bruises or broken bones did she have that she couldnât show pain. How much did she have to hid herself?
And when Daryl (squee!) and Glenn came riding into their rescue, the women were already freed and had killed all of their captors. Violently and methodically may I remind you. They stayed until the job was done. They did not run because they were simply free. And Carol, with the presence of mind to create tracks, even supplied their own recovery efforts with the group. But when the doors opened, they received the one thing they lacked the entire episodeâlove, support, and concern.
I applaud both Lauren and Melissa for what they gave to us. Two women who would otherwise be underestimated- a pregnant woman and a middle aged woman- who not only kicked ass but dispelled the ridiculous tropes of femininity.
Great read. So true.
