the memeification of fascism is a proven method of perpetuating and instilling it in other people. Layers of irony will not protect you once you adopt racist, sexist, ableist, transphobic terminology into your lexicon. you'll be acknowledging and nursing the mindsets and connotations borne of those words.

oh yea like chud, specifically in its contemporary resurgence, was pretty exclusively used to mock reactionaries and alt-right types till they grabbed onto it and spun it around to be some kind of cute little self-effacing insult a la "fuck my stupid chud life" or whatever until it diluted to the point that it has no connotation beyond "loser" and you see it shoved into cute little vtubers' stream titles and random youtube video thumbnails.

i think the more damning element to it is the fact that it's so commonly used as a self-directed insult, causing people to identify themselves as "chuds" and thus producing some thread of commonality with the aforementioned reactionaries. this thread then generates a pull towards more reactionism especially when its only one of multiple words and phrases being covertly blunted and spread around.

more efficient to ease someone into your extreme worldviews when theyre already using all the appropriate vernacular.

okay hot take I fear the reason there’s not as much azirafem content compared to fem Crowley is bc you guys are scared of portraying a (at least in the book) fussy, effeminate, extremely queer character as feminine. like you don’t want to portray the mild-mannered, “oh well there’s no need for that”, gentle and theatrical queer man as feminine!!! I don’t care what it feels like. You’re stronger than you think you are. Killing yourself is permanent. You can’t go back after that. I know you want the pain to stop, and I don’t know how to stop it either, but dying certainly isn’t the best way.

I know people say it a lot, and I know it seems dumb and so far away, but I can promise you it will get better. Calling it temporary feels like too little of a word for what it is- It feels like depression will last forever, and it’ll ruin all your relationships and family and friends, and you’d be better off dead. But that isn’t true.

Reach out to someone. A friend, a family member. Contact a hotline. Scream into your pillow. Take a walk. Try and pinpoint things in nature. If you don’t like your favorite hobbies anymore, try and find or pick up new ones or old ones you abandoned. Talk to people. If you get overwhelmed, don’t isolate yourself, just take a break.

if you relapse, it isn’t a moral failing. If you self harm, tell someone you care about. They won’t be angry at you. Make sure you clean your wounds to the best of your ability, getting an infection will only make you suffer more.

like I said. I know it’s hard. I know it seems like it’ll go on forever. But you can survive this. I believe in you. You’re strong, and you deserve every good thing you have.
