the lecturer hands us these art blogs every now and then, and theyāre really useful. Tangents are pretty easy to fall for, too! which sucks ācuz then itād look weird and youād have to re-do some stuffs or worse, re-do the composition of the whole image.
the rest & explanations in Chris Schweizerās blog :Ā http://curiousoldlibrary.blogspot.com.au/2011/10/schweizer-guide-to-spotting-tangents.html
John Kās blog is really good too (the guy who did Ren and Stimpy)Ā : http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com.au/2006/06/animation-school-7-when-generic-is.html
Yes! A friend taught me about these, and once you know them they are easy to spot and improves art by miles!
I needed these comics so badly... Ā <.< Ā My arts are not nearly as artistic as they'd like to be, lol. That's part of the problem with perfectionism, generally speaking. You know it's never ever gonna be good enough Ā ;.; Ā But on the other hand I think it's actually a good thing when you finally just make peace with that and realize everything you do is gonna have flaws (and not just talking art here, eheh).
is it alright if I add you on flight rising? I'm grue on there.
Absotively posilutely, miss Grueka! Ā :D Ā It is so cool to run across you again. I'd completely spaced on having added anyone on tumblr (seeing as I'm generally pretty terrible at making even a token effort keeping up my tumblr stuff, lol).I'm Athaza on FR. I'll go friend-req you Ā ^^Ā

finding myself missing my old pern rp site
itās blanked out at this point which is sadĀ
i was just reminded of it by (I believe) ocelittle reblogging my stuff. I think they were a modā¦Ā
Omg I'd forgotten this account was linked to one of our old players! <3 Who were you on there, again? I miss the place, too, but yeah, host got removed now. ...I miss a number of thing about that site, but especially the really awesome set of players we had there. All you guys made it so much fun Ā :D Ā Just wish other stuff hadn't gotten in the way. And/or that we had people's contact info, and a chat to share again! Heh. Two of us are working on a wyvern RPG for sometime in the not too too far future (though probably after November is my guess, because NaNoWriMo, and moving to new unburnt house in my case). I RP a bit elsewhere (including probably Flight Rising, lol) but I miss my scalies & co. Or, well, hidies, but that doesn't sound as good, lol.
My understanding of the market for primary colors on Flight Rising
accurate
Snot + āAlso buy ridgebacksā = Literal Me.
Purple is love! X) I keep hearing these nonsensical anti-purple mutterings going about, and my starter dragon is purple. Makes me wonder what people think :P I'm tempted to start a thread about it to get people's responses, just for the lulz. Navy's not REALLY purple, though, pfft. ;D
Meantime, I think knockoffs are perfectly excellent, too (well, pink if it's with the right stuff) and a lot of other "taboo" colors, while finding (say) a lot of those white/white/white monocolors freaking boring, especially since everyone and their brother has them--guess I'm just never going to get rich off dragon-breeding. Ā :P
A Better Bubbler
How do you incubate cuttlefish eggs behind the scenes in preparation for our forthcoming āTentaclesā special exhibition? You could, at a cost of hundreds of dollars, buy commercial incubators. But that would be too easy. Plus, Aquarist Bret Grasse figured he could create something just as good as the store-bought jobs.
For $2.50 and āa day in the life of one volunteer,ā he makes a better bubbler out of soda bottles, plastic tubing and silicone glue. It looks like mad science, but it works. To date, heās produced hundreds of baby cuttlefish for exhibit using the system.
The First Step: Drink the Soda
Bret and his husbandry colleagues have been working on this fabulous fizzer for about four years. The challenge is to āget the greatest number of healthy hatchlingsā from a given clutch. He could let nature do its job, by having the cuttlefish mom rear the little ones. But ironically, this doesnāt always achieve the best outcome, says Bret. The mom sometimes forgets where she left the clutches, or neglects them. Plus, removing the eggs and raising them separately allows mom to focus on what she does best: laying Ā more eggs.
The first step in making the worldās best egg bubbler is the easiest: drink the soda. That done, Bret cuts the bottle in half, and affixes a small screen between the two pieces. The bottom end, where the cap used to be, also has a screen. Then the whole thing is submerged. Next, a tube injects air into the top half of the bubbler, drawing water oh-so-gently up through the whole device, and aerating the eggs with the perfect fizzinessānot too much, not too little.
A Cuttlefish the Size of a Pea
While the cuttlefish eggs do their dance in the bubbler, Bret watches and waits. Eventually, the faintest trace of a baby cuttlefish appears in the egg, and an eyespot. When they finally hatch, theyāre the size of a pea. The whole thing takes only a few weeks. The baby cuttlefish can then go on exhibit, where theyĀ reach their Ā three-inch full grown size in about three months.
So far, the bubblers have been used for pharaoh, flamboyant and dwarf cuttlefish, but more species are being considered as we get closer to the launch of the new exhibit April 12.
āWeāre so fortunate to have the opportunity to experiment with these techniques,ā says Bret. āIt not only helps us produce animals for exhibit, but it plays into our conservation mission, by reducing pressure on wild stocks.
āItās a dream come true for me, Chris Payne and Alicia Bitondo,ā says Bret. āWe couldnāt be happier to work with these animals and do this kind of troubleshooting.ā
Plus, the soda is free.
Learn more about our forthcoming special exhibition, āTentaclesā.
Cuttlefish lava lamps ftw! I rather like their explanation of these. :)

Hello, we are experiencing a few hiccups with getting registration started, but we expect to have the issue resolved as soon as possible. We will make updates here as we have them.
Anyone getting the new error That the code doesnāt match the username bc Hey
Yep. Ā I was like, HEY, PROGRESS--a different error message! Ā :P Man, today is not starting off well. Ā O.o;; Ā Getting FR reg to work would be a nice distraction from RL problems I can't fix atm. But at least I don't have to go in to work or anything soon, ahaha, unlike some of the poor peeps waiting on FR reg I'm sure.
Iāve been a member of this one wolf RP board off and on since I was like.. 12 or something (though I donāt think actual RPing started until I was at least 13) ā but hey, I get to write stuff and there is a significant lack of creeps and drama, which for RP-anything is pretty awesome. Ā Rejoined because why the hell not, and picked up a varied cast of fools to derp around with.

This reminds me of something I saw on a video my mother had about access in education: that treating everybody fairly doesnāt mean giving everyone the same thing, it means giving everyone what they need.
