“Hey! Hey listen a moment! Do you want to see something super cool? It’ll like blow your mind I swear it!!” She’s more excitable then usual and practically bouncing off the walls. For some reason she’s trying not to smile with her teeth though.
“Yes! I always wanna see something cool! Then again, I’m looking right at her!” Smooth, Sal. Smooth. But she is genuinely curious as to what has Vea so excited.
Batgirl, if you had transformed into a being of divine light and your radiance can purify any and all dark souls (to get rid of the bad thoughts and emotions that people have basically), how different would your life be soon after?
“Ummmm, I’m Salamander, not Batgirl! But being batgirl would be so cool!! Just imagine, getting to do all that kick-a stuff with Batman and fighting villains all the time! It would be so rad!”
“But, uh… To answer your question, I think life would be a lot easier if that were possible. I mean, I can see the future already, so I think I’m blessed to at least have that. But if I could do something like being a… ‘Being of divine light’? Sure, yea! I cold totally take that! I could make people happier! Like Wolfe… He’s sad a lot of the time. And my friend Evie! We don’t talk much since I had to move, but she seems like she and her dad need to have their bad emotions taken away. Oh, and Veasna! I don’t think she’s sad right now, but then I could help her if she needed it!!
“Sorry, rambling. I guess the answer it, it would be different, but in a good way. I think so, at least. Also, I still wish I was batgirl. Imagine how much cooler I’d be.”

“Well, what am I supposed to do about it? Do I tell them I think they’re the coolest chick around or do I.. Not do that thing?” For a moment, she moves to lean on Vea. wait, She liked someone, too? Did that mean she needed to not confess? Ugh, the movies gave such bad advice.
Sal, for once, is completely silent for a good while. She doesn’t look at her friend, suddenly feeling really awkward. She hated these feelings. Why couldn’t she just go back to them adventuring without the hassle?
“Yea. You know what? Secrets are dumb. We should just tell each other who we like. Then it’s out there and we don’t have to deal with it anymore. We’re best friends, after all. Knowing crushes won’t ruin that, you know?”
“I think you should tell them you think they’re cool and you like them! They won’t know otherwise!” Veasna doesn’t seem to react much when Sal leans towards her. They were cuddly friends after all, Veasna was cuddly with most of her friends after all. She didn’t think much on Sal leaning against her and figured playing normal would cause little suspicion to her crush.
Veasna falls silent with Sal, she’s usually not so quiet. But with Salamander she didn’t mind being quiet so much. They didn’t fee as weird as with others.
“Yeah… You’re right. I don’t think it’ll ruin anything or our friendship or anything. Besides friends shouldn’t keep secrets, right? So let’s just both say who we like! Uhh… Do you want to go first or should I?”
“Wow, that does make a lot of sense! Doesn’t mean I’m any less of a chicken, though.” Sal laughs, moving her head to rest on the other’s shoulder for a moment as she just listens. It wouldn’t ruin the friendship, she had said. But Vea didn’t know who she was crushing on.
The ginger clears her throat, sitting up and nodding. “I can go first, if that would help. I did bring it up, after all.” A small pause. A moment of fidgeting with her fingers. The sudden fear the words wouldn’t come out right. Eyes not looking to the other as she states:
“I really like you. Like... Like like you. You’re the raddest chick I’ve ever met. You make my heart do these totally off the chain loop-de-loops. You don’t laugh at my stupid lingo. You adventure with me. And I think... I’m totally, unapologetically infatuated with you, man.” Her face is absolutely red now, a small smile tugging at the edges of her lips as she looks down at her hands. “Well... Your turn.”
how long has it been since she last saw a human? an actual, breathing, living human? she couldn’t be certain – time seemed to flow a lot differently when the entire world was nothing but an endless labyrinth of caverns.

she must’ve looked quite ridiculous, what with her arms waving frantically to catch their attention, but it was quite obvious that the girl couldn’t care less. // @oddmxzing
Salamander had mostly been walking aimlessly around, happy she’d decided to wear a sweater on her trip. It seemed she needed it once she fell down. Though, she did have to admit she felt a little worn. Monsters constantly trying to “fight” (though was it really fighting if the girl fled from every single battle?) and walking with not very much rest seemed to start to get to her.
Maybe that was why she nearly screamed when someone started shouting. He hearing aid was up too high, causing Sal to flinch and quickly move to turn it down just enough to still hear. Brown eyes looked up to the other, a sudden wave of excitement washing through her.
“Oh! Hey! Hi! Another person! Groovy!” Suddenly, she felt a little odd standing out in the snow while this other girl called to her. What now? Was she supposed to go inside? Or wait for the other to come down? All she did, in reality, was shift her backpack, smiling like an idiot up to the other human.

Sal sighs a little, running a hand through her hair until it gets caught for a moment. “Okay, well it’s like this. Like, they’re super nice, they go on adventures with me, and lately it’s been more of a, like, boom! My chest gets all butterfly-ey. Or whatever.” A moment of thought before she lets out yet another deep sigh.
“I just wanna be around them all the time and it’s hard to say anything because I don’t know what’s going on. I just.. Dunno. Do you like anyone? Do you know what this is?”
Veasna listens intently as Sal talks, nodding her along and just letting her friend speak. “That does sound really different then just normal friends.” She comments. She should know she’s been down that road a couple of times before. In fact she’d been down it fairly recently. But Sal didn’t need to know that.
“Me? Well I’ve liked people in the past and I’ve felt this way myself a few times before. I mean typically it means I like them but I’ve never really done anything about it. There…” A moment of hesitation and she shifts nervously. “There is someone I sort of like, like that right now…”

How exactly do I figure that out? I’m clueless! An absolute dunce! UGH!” She seems really bummed out about this train of thought. Like it’s been on her mind for a while.
“Of course you can, Sal! Nah you’re not a dunce, liking people is weird and hard and super confusing. Especially trying to figure out if you like someone. That’s like the dumbest part of it. But I guess to figure it out…” She has to pause to think on this. She’s liked people before but always forgets how she figured out she liked them. “Okay so like is the way you feel towards the person you like different from how you feel about other friends? I think that’s a good starting point!”

“Uh.. Sorry. You just seem like you’d rather be left alone. Haha… Yea… Ignore me.” And with that, he’s going to start with his pictures, suddenly going really quiet as he gets into the taking pictures.
“Good. I don’t need my picture being sold off without my consent.” There’s no hint to joke in his voice and his face is as neutral as it ever was. He glances up from his phone at the comment, quirking an eyebrow clearly questioning that.
“Me? Nice? You’ll change your opinion on that.”
He goes back to his phone for a moment, finishing his post to his twitter before finally looking back to the stranger. He’s silently watching before finally “What lens are you using?”
“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t... Nevermind.” He’s just trying to focus on his pictures, even going so far as to lay on the ground for good land shots. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous in this lighting. Newt ignored the comment, always having learned it was better to not comment if you had nothing nice to say.
He just needed to focus on his work.
It wasn’t until he was paused to check his pictures that he had even realized the other had asked a question. With a small cough, he quickly sits up, giving a small, still discomforted, smile at the other.
“It’s, uh, just a standard. Nothing too fancy. I didn’t think I’d need a wide one, as I’m mostly doing things close by. I, uh... Do you want to see the pictures so far? I made sure not to get your face. I didn’t think you’d want those in public, even if it is at school or whatever. Er... Yea. Pictures.”

“Long as you don’t plan to sell the picture I don’t mind being in the picture. If you’re going to sell the picture though, then I suggest finding a different spot or coming back at sunrise. I’m not moving. You might be able to capture some very captivating light at sunrise. Though I can understand why you’d try at sunset too, the lighting could be perfect for nature shots.”
