To remove the top, I marked the center and used a simple 1-1/4" screw and a 9" string with loops on both ends. Simple, and worked beautifully. And, was quite fun to create. I planed 1/16" off the 2x4s I pre-cut yesterday and assembled the top and bottom frames using 1 1/2" Kreg screws. Assembling a much needed shop bench. I've pre-cut my frame, legs, and joining pieces along with my hardwood plywood surfaces. The next step is to assemble the pieces. I've ordered 5" casters with brakes from Amazon so my workbench is mobile.
