So this sure brings back memories, lol. Drawn back in February 2021, shortly after the BWW demo dropped, and everyone's opinions dropped right along with it. It was not a happy time for our little community, but not wanting to let excess negativity get a foothold, I responded with this bit of fanart. A sort of "rally your courage" image, made with the hope that things would get better and that we wouldn't be overtaken by all the hostility around us. It's still one of my favorite bits of Balan fanart for a lot of reasons :D

I remember having two songs on repeat during this art process, one of which was Utada Hikaru's "Simple and Clean," which winds up pairing nicely with BWW's themes (still need that damn Kingdom Hearts crossover!). The other was Christina Aguilera's "Keep On Singing My Song," which if you've ever heard those lyrics is quite fitting too. So yeah, a nice little memory and moment of peace from a challenging time right there <:D

As I said (link) - here are the concept doodle I made in paint when I first came up with the idea of Kaizo!Balan, and the drawing I made in magma with a friend, where I was deciding on a color palette. As you can see, his design changed quite a bit! When drawing the reference in Photoshop I kinda just. Started from scratch. But I do consider this design to be a kind of an "alt" to the current one, because I do still like it.
