layla L O V E S storms. she always has tbh ? they don’t really calm her tho ? they more make her happy. she likes to hold one camper who hates storms and tells them stories to distract them

her name is ruby ( 18 ) & she’s very much a carefree person who doesn’t give any shits. she smokes weed & loves to party, doesn’t take shit from anybody. ruby is also pretty emotionally closed off & doesn’t really let anyone in ( except people who she’s very, very close to ) & the main reason for that is because she lost her parent who she was literally best friends with and it really fucked her up when she passed away

“ personal lifeguard --- ” layla repeated , putting her hand up in the space between them. “ well , missy , that’ll be 20 dollars an hour. ” she nudged the other playfully. the girl took off her clothes. she hadn’t always been the most confident person when it came to 2-piece bathing suits but stillwater was a place to let go of any fear and anxiety. “ there’s some noodles and other little things in the shack if you want one .. or a few. ”

eyes tightly shut, the brunette laid on her back whilst basking in sunlight on the warm day. emitting a small groan as someone towered over her , her plump pink lips turning downward just-so in response to the sudden interruption. ‘ woah - am i still dreaming or is there an angel standing above me ? ’ she joked , squinting at friend that stood in front of her. raising her hand lazily for the other to take , ‘ any chance you could help me up ? ’
LAYLA GIGGLED , ROLLING HER EYES at serenity’s response. she gripped the other’s hand , tugging her up. “ come on , grandma .. ” SMIRK. “ i just wanted to ask when you want to take a dip in the water. ” the girl adjusted her sunglasses. “ or if you’d prefer to sunbathe , that’s cool too. ” layla didn’t tan ... she went straight from white to pink to lobster red. and the sunburn never turned into a tan afterwards like some peoples.
“It’s only day one of camp and I’ve already confiscated three boxes of cookies and five bags of chips. I don’t remember if bringing food from home breaks camp rules but hey, I’m hungry alright? …And don’t say you don’t want any cause I see you eyeing those Oreos. But if you want ‘em you’ll have to pay for them,” he smirked.
THE BRUNETTE CROSSED HER arms. she hadn’t remembered if you were able to bring your own food or not ... because she did too -- “ oh , is that so? ” GRIN. “ what exactly do I have to pay to get 3 oreos? ”

As she listened she couldn’t help but admire the other girl, she was kind and beautiful, Danielle was lucky to have her as a friend. “It does. You’re right, it is very interesting to think about those things. Do you have good memories of camp, mostly?”
SHE HUMMED. “ mm-- yeah, mostly good. ” ‘ you know -- aside from an asshole making her heart break and causing a lot of unresolved anger ’ she wanted to add ; but decided against it at the last second. “ my favourite is probably the time I had a midnight fire with the campers and a few had gone to bed, ” layla began , a smile grew causing a dimple to form on her right cheek. “ and this one kid was telling the rest of us about the time he had gotten chased by the tiniest dog and he ended up rolling down a ditch ... poor thing .. it was super funny. ” she let out a laugh. “ what about you -- what’s a good memory of yours? ”

“ i’d probably choose AMY ( @amymillcr ) for no other reason than she has a great sense of humour … – and she’s super hot. ”

Finding a log next to the water Danielle sat down, “Um…good question.” Thinking for a moment she watched the still lake, “I think, if we exclude the people, my favorite part would have to be how still everything is in the early hours and late at night. It’s a refreshing change from New York and everything else in my life at the moment.” Looking over she sent a small smile the other girls way, “What is yours?”
WHILE LAYLA LISTENED TO her friend talk , she couldn’t help the wide smile on her face. she could truly listen to people talk for hours. “ i think the memories. ” layla glanced around them quickly , still beaming. “ not just my own , but everyone’s you know? this place has been up for how many years .. i just think it’s really cool to think about people’s experiences here. what they learned, what they taught and regretted -- if that makes any sense? ”
