ROSALINE PEAKE:
She had been meandering between tables watching games being played, money lost and won, simply taking in the glory of a night out when it had been so long since she had one. She really didn’t have any money to lose, her purse strings were tight and budget even tighter, but she found it entertaining enough just to watch. It was during this walk around the tables that she spotted Bryce, and she had to admit she was quite surprised. Not only was he in attendance but he was in a suit. As she watched him fuss with it, she could only guess that it wasn’t his, but it didn’t change the fact that it suited him fairly well. A scuffy 007 or something of the like. He looked suave, a word she was not used to using in reference in to Bryce. Gruff, grumpy, disgruntled, sure, but not suave. –Eventually her observations had been made, and she had been spotted, so she made her way over to his table, only a few feet away. And upon being within closer distance, she thought she might have spotted his problem. Without thinking, she reached out for the collar of his shirt, picking off what must’ve been part of a dry cleaning tag somehow wedged itself in there “I am both having fun and not having fun, if that makes any sense.” She commented with a shrug after finally retrieving the source of his annoyance. “It’s nice to be out, but I’m…A bit paranoid.”

He’d never been all that good with contact unless he knew it was coming but her movement is that quick and unexpected enough that he’s too taken aback to move away from it. Moments later it’s clear what she did, nod of acknowledgement given. “Thanks.” The night was certainly a mixed bag for him, it wasn’t too much of a stretch for him to understand that it was for her too. “Enough sense.” Slow nod was given to her next words, understanding the paranoia all too well when the last event he’d gone to had ended in death and blood. But in truth he was betting on the fact that there were so many civilians present to keep everyone’s behaviour in line. Whether he was right in that assumption or not would be seen. “I’ve not spotted anything suspicious.” Although he hadn’t the last time other than his usual distrust but he figures that information will hardly put her at ease. Words of comfort weren’t his strong suit but actions and gestures he could do and while he didn’t say it aloud he’d already made the decision to keep her company for a little while. Maybe it wouldn’t be of any reassurance to her but he knew he’d feel that little bit better if she was close should things turn violent again. “Do you want a drink?”
