Spring Fling Charity Event
Describe your typical look.
When I’m not in the office, I’ll always find a way to pair a moto jacket with whatever it is I’m wearing. This is my current favorite.
What always manages to cheer you up?
Minions.
Have you ever had your heart broken?
I have. It’s taught me to be more aware of who I’m giving my heart to. You’d think with all of the police training I went through, I’d learn something about hesitance or trust. Not when it comes to falling in love, apparently. Love makes all of us dumb, doesn’t it? I would go through all of the suffering again for a second of light and happiness. That’s the dumbest thing of all.
Spitting gum out is littering. And not to mention completely unladylike. I recommend you put that in a wrapper and that wrapper in the nearest waste-bin. Uck. Here, have some hand sanitizer.

Oh please, it’s no bother. Just an unfortunate perk to the job. It was just… Lovely to meet you Mr Faraday, I hope we bump into each other again when there’s less raucous. Mhm, I know. Some people just do not have your level of class and sophistication I’m afraid. Okay, thank you. Goodbye.
… I could kiss you, Emma Calloway. But we wouldn’t want him to come back.
It’s not him I’m worried about. My mother’s twenty feet away and squinting whenever within arm’s reach of another woman. Oh look at that, she finally blinked... Hi, mother.
It seems she approves of you, at the very least. You’re welcome, by the way.
notsolovely-lili:
Oh, no you don’t have to…
Yes, hi. Lili Mahdavi. Mhm, yeah. Yes, it’s nice to see you to. I- It’s the dress, right? It doesn’t look like I’m working but I’m—- Oh, your date? I’m sure they’re just lovely to. No need to introduce me, I’ll be working the room all night.
So, I should really—– You know. … No?
Hi, I’m sorry to butt in so rudely-- Hi, Mr. Faraday, I hope the cats are doing well, but there’s an issue they’re requesting the assistance of Ms. Mahdavi for. No need to worry at all. You know how outsiders are, always trying to get in for a chance at free food-- Haha.

You know, they say that coffee is just a stepping stone to wine so. It’s definitely a place to start. And by ‘they’ I do mean the real housewives of the Upper East Side who’s daughters find it pretty hard to not get arrested. [ Smiling what felt like the most genuine smile in months and successfully ignoring any worry she was feeling, Lili handed the cup out to her. ] Don’t tell the other kids what a bad influence I am.
That voice...
You must have heard about the most expected limo snatching, huh?
former-fairestofthem-all:
Always yes. It- Wait. … It’s you again.
And that just sounded completely rude and vague, the worst possible combination. Please don’t arrest me for accidentally sassing a police officer. Or for saying that. Um, sorry. I was just trying to make sure the ah, thing I was dealing with was all dealt with but I’ll just call. No biggie. Coincidentally, the second thing I was going to ask about was definitely in the wine region.
We can always chat about it somewhere more discreet, but you should have my number anyways.
If not, I’ll write it on a napkin from the bar you’ll be leading us to. I trust your taste in wine is divine enough to be in charge.
I’m actually not on duty at the moment, but if there’s something you need help with, I can direct you towards someone who is. Unless you’re asking if I need an entire bottle of some fine red. That answer would be yes.

Emma could easily separate her personal life from her work one, but when she was assigned to a case that would forever stick with her, all previous routines were thrown out the window. The late nights in the office side-by-side with homicide detectives started with a horrifying 911 call. Without getting into the nitty gritty details that would make even the toughest of people’s stomachs ache, Kyra Hanover and Jade Everett, two young twenty-four year olds in love and in the prime of their lives, were murdered by a suspect who was able to erase virtually any trace of themselves. The impossible seemed to be, well... possible, but Emma is having a difficult time accepting that verdict and has been working the longest hours of her life, with the least sleep of her life. Having gotten to know the women’s families over the last few months has made Emma feel closer to the case and victims in a way she never thought possible.
Throwing herself into her work hasn’t made trying to mend broken fences with her family any easier. They could accept that she was making a living on her own, they could accept her sexuality, they would always love her, but what wasn’t okay was her need to be a police offer when so many scandals could break out with that blue collared occupation. And they couldn’t accept her breaking up her brother’s potential marriage. Let’s just say she and her brother had one run in during missing month, and it wasn’t the most pleasant. Harsh words, names, and other eyebrow raising remarks were made that’s made Emma back away more. You’d think a police offer would have some sort of back bone, yet hers is kind of lacking, so we’re left with the most obvious question; will she ever feel the need to stand up for herself?
Somehow between work and issues with her family, she’s made time for a social life to keep her back down on Earth. Though balance no longer exists in her life, pretending it does with an hour or two a week out at a bar seems to do the trick. Gay bars, in particular... Bars where she can shed the daily stress and just be herself. Although, she does stick out like a sore thumb in her designer pumps and dresses while only ordering the finest Chardonnay.

Biography:
“A woman’s place is in the revolution.”
Emma Calloway was raised to believe that she had one goal and one goal only: education, education, education. She was dreaming of Ivy Leagues before she could tie her own shoe laces and while her family name meant she had many a social obligation, she opted to use all the spare time she had to study. Emma had to be the best of the best. She was going to be a scholar, a professor, a lady for every education who used her words as her best weapon. Dedicated to a fault, she worked harder than anyone she knew to graduate top of every class and it was only when she had finished college that she realised something: she didn’t want it. The life, the dreams that she’d had all planned out suddenly didn’t feel like her own. All of her hard work, who had it really been for? Standing on that stage receiving her diploma Emma realised that she was standing at the biggest crossroads of her life to date and she was primed to go the wrong way. That is when the scandal broke out as it so often does. Emma Whittaker didn’t continuing her schooling or marry a Vanderbilt. Instead, she applied to the police academy.
There was a clear, hurtful lack of support from her family. Whether it was worry and fatalistic rants or downright rude assumptions about Emma’s abilities to handle herself, it was the first graduation they did not want to be present at. That might have derailed even Emma’s stubborn persona but thankfully she met Lili Mahdavi. Emma had to take more than a few teasing comments from her fellow trainees but Lili wasn’t one of them and from day one they just kind of clicked. They were sort of like mixing champagne and bottom shelf hard liqueur together but just this once, it worked. Lili was all the support that Emma needed to believe in herself fully again. After all, getting to the top took a lot of confidence and some very high toe-stepping heels. The two followed their dreams of joining the homicide task force and were assigned as partners. It had been hard but finally Emma felt as if everything in her professional life was coming together. Of course her personal one was a different story altogether. When Emma wants something, she puts her whole heart and soul into getting it. She’s a passionate person but sometimes she lets people take advantage of that passion which is usually where Lili comes in threatening to kick ass.
It was definitely wrong, having a crush on her brother’s fiancé but Felicity Sanderson was just one of those women you couldn’t keep your eyes off. Nothing was happening of course but still. Then Emma’s professional life took a hit when Lili was sent undercover too soon and things went…wrong. Next thing she knew Lili had quit and left town, not without saying goodbye or never calling but it was undeniable that she was trying to put distance between them. It hurt but Emma understood. Of course what that meant was that she had more time to spend with Felicity, as the sister of the groom obviously. One thing led to another as it so often does around here and Emma ended up in bed with her brother’s fiancé. Little did she know that Felicity had found out her fiancé had been cheating on her and had picked Emma to be part of an elaborate revenge plot. Her brother caught them, the engagement was definitely off and then Felicity said thanks but no thanks and left Emma and her hurt heart in her dust. Lili had to come back and she said she was, just not to the force. If Emma can depend on any one philosophy on life however it’s that you have to take things one step at a time in order to get what you want.
You know you love me,
xoxo –Gossip Girl
