Pokemon is one of the things i keep meaning to start playing, but i forget to.

That's a pity. If you need somewhere to start, though, we played Sun and Moon first and then moved onto Sw/Sh, before coming back and playing B/W.

Black and White is one of the overtly darker generations, so might not be the best for a first time player - but if you're a first time player, it's easier to adjust to the lack of non-Unovan Pokemon in Unova, because you don't really know what it would be like to have anything different.

All the other games (yes even B2W2) have pokemon from other generations. So BW is pretty unique in that.
