i love trans man dennis with all my heart,, but i propose bigender dennis
he always felt drawn to the femininity that his mother and the other women and girls at his church. he usually hung out with the girls at church, his brothers all teased him but he'd rather spend his sunday morning with the girls than with his brothers. he often wondered what'd be like to be like a girl, watching all the girls and women go about their days.
but he knew he was a boy, a man. that label didn't feel wrong wrong to him. he never disliked the body he was born in, even once he hit puberty. he was shorter than all the other boys and his chest became a little more feminine than most boys. he was teased for it but he secretly liked it. it felt like he could look like a girl if he ever wanted to. it felt freeing, tho he never told anyone.
he went the longest time thinking that he could only be a man. later he found out about transgender people and for awhile he considered if he was meant to be girl. he decided transitioning would be way too expensive for him and he'd miss being a man, at least being perceived as a man.
only after moving in with santos did he learn about online queer communities. he spends his time scrolling through different sites, finding out about gender nonconformity and genders outside of the binary. he considered the term nonbinary for awhile. maybe he was not a man or a woman. but that didn't feel right. he felt like a man and he felt like a woman. he didn't think that made any sense, could someone have two genders?
yes, was the answer he found. maybe he was genderfluid? he didn't feel like his gender really changed at all, more so that it had space for manhood and womanhood. he finally landed on the term bigender, a term for those that have two genders, typically man and woman. for the first time in a long time, things made sense to him.
the issue of pronouns arose as soon as he told trinity. she asked him if he wanted to change his name and pronouns. he said no to the name change, liking his name despite it being very masculine. it felt like it represented him. a masculine name for a person that doesn't quite conform to the masculinity prescribed to him. pronouns were more difficult. he had no problem being referred to with he/him and he knows that's what most people will use for him. but also had no problem with she/her or they/them. trinity pledged to try and mix things up so he can get a feel for them and feel accepted, but he confessed he didn't mind what people used for him. she still insisted ofc and he never protested, happy to have someone that finally sees him
