It was a family event, my cousins, niece, and yours truly, took part in the 5k Bubble Run. We enrolled as team Rice Girls. I was Steamed Rice. The names my cousins and niece had: Fried Rice, Jasmine Rice, Hyphy Rice, Light Skinned Rice, Sweet Rice, and Ginger Rice. We were a hit. Cuzzy and I made the tutus, btw :):)
Hollywood in Sacramento (Senior Showcase)
My daughter’s film premiered along with the films of her peer’s at the Crocker Art Museum. It was a great premier. I’m very proud of the kid and how far she has come with her dream to make films. Her film, Murderer on the Loose Leaf, is a 50′s dark comedy, which deserves an R rating…well, that’s if a rating was required :D. For the occasion a few of us decided to dress 50’s style.
I recently discovered that the infamous Starbucks Secret Menu doesn’t exist (disappointed face). It’s people that create these random recipes and then post them on the internet claiming they’re from the Starbucks Secret Menu. Tip: If you must try one of these drinks prepared by a Starbucks barista, bring the recipe with you, which is how my niece had a barista prepare butter beer from the Harry Potter movies.
This is very important: Will Daniel Craig return one more time to reprise his role as Bond? I’ve been reading that he has been open to it despite the fact that he had told the media that Spectre would be his last Bond film. However, should he return for one more go around, I’ll be there in the forefront waiting with anticipation. Note: Photo is not mine
I’m reading my 13th book, The Wishing Thread, by Lisa Van Allen. I’m struggling to get through it. I want to stop reading it, but it’s not that easy because I have this compulsion to finish any book that I start reading no matter if it’s a not-so-great read. Maybe it will pick up if I stick with it. Btw, I’m happy to report most of my reading experiences have been filled with good books, but this compulsion of mine is utterly ridiculous and I need to stawwwp.
I’ve had zero motivation to get into shape, although I think about it daily. This is depressing, which only makes me want to eat more and do less :/
One of the best actors I grew up watching was well known for playing villains in western films, most notably the film, “The Cowboys,” when he shot and killed John Wayne in the back. Bruce Dern was so good at being bad, I hated his guts. Lately, Christoph Waltz has caught my eye in movies such as, “Inglorious Bastards,” “Spectre,” and “The Legend of Tarzan.” The dude is great at playing bad and with such charisma. The person that I reluctantly had to lay off in April contacted me last week. She was able to get another job within the company. She thanked me for connecting her with the Director of the QA group where she’ll be working within a couple of weeks. :-)
