Watching him from the corner of her eye she felt the slightest bit uncomfortable with the way he kept asking that damned question. She thought it was awfully rude and inconsiderate, but she couldnât do anything about it. Her smile is sarcastic and tight and instead of writing out a reply she lay her small and delicate fingers against her throat tapping gently. Surely he wasnât stupid and would get the hint, or well sheâd literally have to spell it out for him.
Rylan watched as the female tapped on her throat; she looked at him as if the answer was obvious, almost like she was making fun of him for not knowing. âWhat?â he said, defensively. âYouâre a singer and youâve got a show coming up. Right?â He gave a slight shake of his head. Why did she have to make the whole thing so damn complicated? He was no idiot, but the way she was fake smiling told another story.Â

ââŠ.my name is Melody and I work at Miss Pattyâs?â
âAm I supposed to know Miss Patty? Iâm still pretty new here, so forgive me.â

365 Showtunes DAY 138: THE LAST FIVE YEARS - Moving Too Fast
âa little tip for the future, possibly: if youâre getting arrested, donât call shotgun. it will NOT lighten the mood.â
âCome on dude, seriously? It wasnât that much weed. This is insane. Donât you have anything better to do? Like maybe catching real criminals? Fucking Christ. Iâm calling my fucking lawyer.â
â yeah â THANKS to the jackass that left their car at gypsyâs expecting it to be done by tomorrow afternoon. do people really think that weâve got nothing to do than tend to your every need ?? as if i havenât got a life of my own. either way, they can EXPECTÂ to be double charged. â
âHereâs an idea. Maybe if you were there doing your job instead of here complaining about it, youâd have it done and therefore neither of you would have any reason to be upset.â
âalright, alright!!â javi exclaimed as approached the table, balancing two plates on one hand and a pot of coffee with two mugs in the other. âso we got your eggs over easy, extra crispy bacon, and some hash browns â ( and ) â a stack of pancakes, extra whip, topped with glazed strawberries,â he announced as he set both plates down followed by the two mugs. âfreshly brewed dark for both,â he said as he poured the hot coffee into the cup. âholler at me if you need anything else,â he smiled before turning around to walk back to the kitchen, only making it a few steps away before walking back to the table he had just served. âthatâs wasnât ACTUALLY your order, was it?â he asked, running a hand through his hair in embarrassment as realized heâd gotten his tables mixed up.
Rylan watched as his waiter placed the things on his table, wondering how long itâd take him to realize heâd messed up. He smirked as the man walked away, only to stop short and turn around. âWell, seeing as this is food for two and Iâm by myself, thatâd be an appropriate deduction, yes.â He glanced over his shoulder and pointed to a nearby table, âThat looks like my omelette.â Â
âupdate, never go to thanksgiving at your bosses house? donât get me wrong, miss patty is gods gift to stars hollow. but it will all consist of you not speaking and casually hiding in the corner one second and turn into the melody - or, the you show two seconds later.â
âIâm gonna be honest. I have no idea who are what youâre talking about. Who are you?â
fkrileymaddox:
âWell maybeâŠbut then again I happen to actually love working with kids so many I wouldnât find that task all to bad.â Riley smiled as he looked back at the man before he frowned for a second. âAre you okay dude? I donât mean to be rude of anything but youâre not looking so hot.â
âGod, you have more patience than I do,â Rylan said, shaking his head. This was arguably the most pleasant conversation heâd had with someone today. âCollege kids are alright -- they leave you alone for the most part. But little kids are just too much work.â He chuckled at the manâs sudden change in expression. âIâm fine. What youâre seeing is just a little bit of self-hatred and a lot of failure,â he joked. And withdrawal symptoms, he added to himself.Â

It was clear that this male clearly thought he was entitled and it was people like that, that she just didnât understand. She huffed when noticing his eyes rolled, but her own did just the same as he asked a question that she thought the answer to was very obvious. âWouldnât you like to know.â The young woman wrote down in her neat handwriting lifting her chin to look at him almost in challenge.
Rylan laughed at her rebuttal. âReal original,â he quipped, leaning back against the bench and stretching his arm behind his head. âBut really, whatâs going on?â he pressed, referring to her opting to write instead of talk. âSaving your voice for something?â he asked. Maybe she was a singer; heâd done this before in the midst of shows to ensure that he didnât lose his voice prior to a performance.Â
etherealminded:
The way he spoke to her just had that sneer settling into her features more. If she could pull herself to actually speak, a few curse words wold have surely been thrown in his direction. Mercy was always silent though. The pencil she held was placed carefully in her bag along with her sketchpad and she lifted her gaze to his once more, this time her hands coming up to speak for her, âclass a act you are.âÂ
Rylan hesitated when the female didnât respond, and when she began writing he thought she was ignoring him. He crossed his arms with an annoyed sigh; if there was anything he hated it was being ignored. It wasnât that he needed attention -- more like he deserved it. He read the sketchpad and rolled his eyes in answer to her words. âWouldnât you like to know. Whatâs with the pad, anyways?â
A pretty face doesnât mean a pretty heart.

juliana was taken aback by the demand. â i was just wondering why youâre so grouchy today. â
âDo I need a reason?â he questioned. âItâs a shit day in a shit week, part of a shit month and, you guessed it -- a shit year.â
eviemcnamara:
âItâs not my fault you were in the way!â Evelyn yelled as she picked up the books that she had dropped. âDoes it look like I need something?â
âMe? You were the one who stepped out in front of me. Christ, people need blinkers or something,â he shook his head in response to her yelling. He eyed the books, knowing he should help her pick them up. However, his need to be right kept him from doing so -- that would be admitting that he was at fault. âYeah, looks like you need a new pair of eyes.â
celineviller:
the kiss was one that was clearly welcomed. although, it wasnât one that she anticipated: an awkward peck or two was the extent that celine had prepared herself for. the look she received was clearly cheeky && that both warmed and confused her. âhappy holidays.â she too chuckled, extending her hand out as if she half-expected him to hand her the ticket number.Â
Rylanâs eyes dropped to the womanâs hand, extended as if he was supposed to give her something. âIâm sorry, did you need something?â he asked, meeting her eyes again. Suddenly, it clicked, âOh? Do you want a picture?â When she didnât move, he tried again. âAutograph? I donât have a pen on me.â
