Recent Staff Changes
As of this week, the only moderator remaining at the Official SPS Wiki is nwt000. The other moderator who used to be heavily involved at the site and this blog has departed, and the remaining staff members have not been seen in some time, save the wonderful folks who work directly from the studio itself, adding episode descriptions and character and location art every week.
As a wiki is, by definition, driven by a collaboration and community, feel free to join our remaining editors in building a better wiki!
Holy shit, my memorial for Jason is on his page on the SP Wiki. It’s the first link listed.
Sorry about this, dude. We’ve been trying to get this section removed but the staff can’t agree on the matter, or much else right now.
So, if anyone happens to look right now, just a heads up, we’re in the midst of an edit war among the moderators. I’m sure you’re thinking about how immature and unprofessional that sounds but that’s how we’re fucking doing it, clyde.
Maybe the studio should think about stuff like this before they promote people next time.
So.. About the “Official” South Park Wiki
Yeah, in case you didn’t already know, that shit is completely fan-edited and fan run. Definitely not a good place for sources. It may already be common knowledge, but I still see people using it as an official source when it’s definitely not. I’m assuming that SP Studios writes the orginal articles and then lets fans update them because they’re too lazy. Literally all you have to do to edit an article in whatever way you want is to make an account, which takes literally five seconds. I highly disagree with the fact that you can do this, though I love messing with shit. Currently, Cartman’s “official” wiki page says that his dick is 5 feet, though that might’ve been changed back by now. I’ve also added.. “something else”.. to fuck with the mods because I’m an immature bitch who finds fart jokes funny. Anyways, the fact that the wiki is fan-edited causes some problems since a majority of the mods are sensitive and throw a hissy fit when you remove their ship headcanons from a wiki that’s supposed to be factual. For a while Cartman’s wiki stated that it was “heavily implied” that he was “pansexual”, while this is obvious not a fact and it was just some mod’s headcanon. It doesn’t say that currently because me and my friend fucked with the wiki, but before we did it said “implied that he is bisexual or pansexual”, which again, is not a fact, it’s some fan’s headcanon that shouldn’t be listed since some people like to take it as fact and use it to “prove” their headcanon. It also said something about Cartman having secret feelings for Kyle, which while I do ship Kyman, it isn’t a fact and ships should not be involved in an official wiki (with the exception of Creek).
TLDR; is that for anyone who doesn’t know, the “official wiki” isn’t official and is fan edited. Multiple people insert their headcanons and ships into articles and some people mistake them for actual facts from SP Studios.
Hi, this post was recently brought to our attention.
“the fact that the wiki is fan-edited causes some problems”
Hi, I hate to break it to you, but if you’re familiar with Wikpedia, ‘anyone can edit’ is actually like, the entire ethos of a wiki. That’s like, kind of how they work. If they didn’t let fans edit, it actually would not, in fact, be a wiki.
We became involved because if South Park Studios was opening a wiki that was going to be open for anyone to edit anyway that maybe it would be constructive to like, contribute to it.
“since a majority of the mods are sensitive and throw a hissy fit when you remove their ship headcanons from a wiki that’s supposed to be factual.”
Thanks for the really helpful commentary by the way. I mean ,this is super duper constructive.
The section was altered because there was an edit war between people insisting he was straight because he was dating Heidi at the time, gay because of "Tweek x Craig”, and then ban or pi because whatever. We really, really did not want to have to talk about a cartoon ten year old’s sexuality, but after months of dealing with vandalism over it, we took a pro-active approach in the hopes people would stop edit warring.
I’ve gone out of my way over several years not to obsessively revert and erase others’ information like FANDOM used to do, and talk to editors if they added something canon-based that didn’t fit, but like, okay, sure, that’s your opinion.
I can go remove all of my contributions from the wiki later, if that would make the rest of the fandom feel more comfortable?
Jason White Gender Male Age 10 Hair Color Brown Status Deceased Occupation Student Grade 4th Grade - The Official South Park Studios Wiki
We’ve unrolled a big update for Jason White’s page in honor of his undeserved untimely passing last week! It matches the new format we debuted last season for character profiles going forward, and in addition to including recent events, it also includes some new research details such as how sports have come up throughout his tenure, his speculated friendships, what his home life may have been like, along with some miscellaneous factoids such as how only about half of his major appearances involved any dialogue at all. All of this based as much as possible on irrelevant canon details from the show. Please take a look!
On a personal note, the dude running this blog would really appreciate if Trey could satiate his blood lust for a couple years. It’s not super motivating for this dumb little hobby of mine to see these characters go to waste.
is it our fault for overreacting so much to a simple preview or their fault for playing up the preview like craig and tweek were going to be an actual plot point in the episode
both
We receive three things in advance of an episode release:
A summary of at least two sentences.
Two images typically, occasionally less or more.
A preview clip.
The synopsis and images only ever referenced or showed Cartman and his box. No other characters were emphasized in that material. The preview clip also featured Cartman, who we otherwise established was leading the plot. All of these sources were really focused on Cartman, even though one source happened to feature Craig as well - it was still a scene from Cartman’s story, focused on Cartman.
So let me say two things that might sound contradictory - it was valid for anyone to hope that Craig and Tweek would have been more prominent in the episode. I’ve made plenty of much, much bigger jumps - such as thinking Jimbo would factor into “Dead Kids“ or even two weeks ago after Ned was written out, or expecting Damien to appear or warrant passing mention in the latter episode. Stuff that made fans tell me I was overthinking the show. So, like, I absolutely get the desire that people wanted more of a valid and interesting character dynamic.
The other thing though is, I'm not sure the studio really indicated that Craig and Tweek’s relationship would be “an actual plot point”. It wasn’t mentioned in the press release, which is usually more telling than anything else, and none of the material even featured Tweek himself. The show’s ignored relevant characters before, too -- Kyle’s diabetes never came up again, for example -- so the focus on anxiety never guaranteed him a strong role.
I feel like my commentary is probably coming off kind of elitist and talking down-ish; this isn’t about Creek fans or the ship. After last week, I remember thinking specifically “now seems like a great time for a Creek episode“ because we’d been through two really heavy episodes, and I was still hopeful we could get an interesting storyline for them out of this, too. Creek fans tend to be some of the most positive people in this whole community and create some great fan works. The ship wouldn’t be canon if they didn’t. The other thing though, is you guys deserve a lot more than I think the show is ever going to deliver.
I guess I have to officially write that Ned is missing, but I’m highly skeptical the show will revisit him ever, in which case this is all a little cruel imo
Although the regular editors try to do the heavy lifting ourselves, sometimes the people who actually work at South Park Studios do step in to help us out, such as when a high-traffic character page hasn’t been created yet - in this case, here is Manbearpig’s page, which is a revision 100% by the studio without any involvement from the fan mods here.
Interesting to see the credit to veteran voice actor Frank Welker!
Recent Changes (11.26.18)
Hope you guys have all had a kickass Thanksgiving! :)
New Locations Page
We’ve been working lately on a big revision to the Locations Page to prioritize major, recurring locations - such as those in the video games, the school, regular characters’ houses - over incidental ones, as well as to separate out some of the ‘Park County’ locations from those within the city limits. We’re pretty happy with the result. Compare for yourself!

New Episode Information
We’ve been trying to keep the new episode pages stocked with character listings, cameos, locations, bonus factoids, easter eggs and even a little behind the scenes information from the Live Tweets, though we’ve been falling behind a bit lately. We’ve also set up the page for this week’s brand new episode - if you haven’t already seen the press release, take a peek!

Character Pages
The latest major character revisions based on the latest episodes of the new season:
Satan (This edit clocked in at 17,000+ words. I’m proud. More to come)
Al Gore
Manbearpig
The main mod here has been trying to take a break from editing, and the latter two pages are both primarily from South Park Studios itself rather than our regular editors. Next up will be finishing up Satan’s Personality section, cleaning up these other two, and Ned is also on the docket for a revision now that he’s fucking dead.
Below are the usual disclaimers...

updates Satan’s page: probably dead.
updates Ned’s page: probably dead.
updates Terrance Mephesto’s page: probably dead.
updates Kenny’s page: probably dead.
updates Damien’s page: probably dead.
updates Cartman’s page: is anyone really alive at this point anyway. do these characters' canon still matter.
Special boy Al Gore
I love when the Art Department sends us stuff like this.
“I’m back, bitches” So.. he’s alive..
I’m very sorry to report that this is an existing background character. You can just barely notice the lighter orange stripe on the shirt. Gregory also had some marks on his hair in the back view, iirc
This kid was introduced around season 12 alongside Daniel Tanner (pictured twice here) and some other background characters like Douglas. They usually have more textured hair and clothes than the older background characters, who are more reserved for distant shots and truly large crowd scenes nowdays. (Dogpoo, Fosse and Terrance don’t usually show up walking around the hallway or at recess anymore, for example, but do appear sometimes at lunch in assemblies or yeah, very large gatherings. Bill’s the lucky one.)
If the animators wanted to throw the fandom an easter egg by throwing in someone familiar, they would probably not appear from behind. I believe in these larger scenes, those background characters are auto-generated from a pre-selected list - thus, if they want to include someone special, they have to remove someone, and they would usually elect to remove someone visible. This is why Damien’s occasional appearances, for example, or Bradley post-Coon and Friends, are almost always front views.
I think our best bet for seeing Gregory or the Mole again at this point, nearly two decades later, would probably be a video game. I would recommend politely throwing your best Mole and Gregory fan art towards people who work for Ubisoft San Francisco or RedLynx, alongside some nice comments about their work on the games.
We have a name - he’s Bobby Palmer!
We’ll get him added to the wiki in a jiff.
Da fuck is Terrance Mephesto doing alive again in the show? Is he dead or isn't he? Are we going to have to start calling him Schrodinger's Boy now?
he’s always making cameos :O
In putting together his page for the wiki, we kind of figured not to count the referenced death as canonical.
There were a few canon-based reasons for this executive decision:
Terrance’s continued presence as a background character since the first season, through the most recent episode, has contradicted the timeline set forth in the video game, suggesting he died in the first season.
There isn’t even a passing mention to Kevin, the silent companion to Dr. Mephesto in his every speaking appearance. We make a point of this because Trey references his love for this character in the early commentaries.
Dr. Mephesto’s Ranch is depicted in the game as a sprawling public facility with a number of employed scientists working alongside him, with a front desk, a gift shop and other amneties…
…in contrast, the show has always portrayed Mephesto as living alone with his family members, openly telling Kevin “we’ve tried so hard to be left alone“ in “201“ before repeatedly refusing visitors, and the early song telling his backstory mentioning he lives in obscurity. His reclusive nature is a canonical point of the character.
Driving this point home, the large metal front door is the same one used for the public tour in the game, and for Mephesto’s personal workbench in all aired episodes; so it’s not easy to say this is a different part of the same location. It’s the same door. In the episodes, there are no employees, front desk, etc.
This is not often reported, but South Park: The Fractured but Whole was not written solely by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, but also by a writing team at Ubisoft.
Ubisoft, the same video game publisher, also produced South Park: Phone Destroyer and released it in roughly the same period, where Terrance and Kevin are fine, both make not one but two separate appearances (card art and character creation) and Dr. Mephesto’s ranch has the same interior as it has on the show. (If M&T or Ubisoft cared, it would’ve been even easier to cut this stuff.)
This was a later development, but Counselor Steve is depicted briefly as one of the counselors killed in the “Bring the Crunch“ downloadable content, which used these deaths as a plot point, but he’s fine in season 21′s “Moss Piglets“ (produced around the game’s release) and briefly in season 22′s “Dead Kids“, produced a while afterward.
The basic conclusion, particularly from Dr. Mephesto’s “Have you ever played that game Half-Life?“ joke, and a few accompanying references, that the level was formatted as a parody of science-based games like Half-Life and Portal as well as for the maximum dungeon crawl-style fun, and not really intended as a canonical representation of Mephesto’s current life. We figured, mostly me, that the game probably made some decisions to better represent a fun gameplay level that didn’t reflect the character.
For a comparison, during development the Chris Donnely level for South Park: The Stick of Truth was changed to the Valmer Residence, but it bares no resemblance to what we’ve known canonically about Jimmy’s House, with a totally different design. Come the sequel, the residence was corrected to an accurate representation of Jimmy’s home as seen in the show. Nobody actually died in this case, but it acts as a reminder the games change to fit the show’s canon, especially when there’s no story interference, versus the show being bound by the games. (Though they do feed in as well!)
There were some less evidence-based considerations as well. I would have never used any of these to justify the decision alone, but they helped:
The joke about it is, honestly, pretty fucking funny even as someone who loves the character involved; but it is, at the end of the day, a joke with no serious bearing on the game’s primary plot. None of the player’s actions are erased if it’s ignored, and South Park has undone deaths like this before, though I concede few with such open dialogue references.
Dr. Mephesto’s appearances on the show tended to show him has relatively concerned about his effect on the town, coming out himself to eliminate the evil clone and warning everyone about the turkeys, so his indifference to the kids being in danger in the game was funny, but didn’t feel like a good reflection on the character.
Douchebag is seen attending school with the main kids as a close friend, but obviously isn’t seen or mentioned in the show, and nor are their parents – not even in “Franchise Prequel“, which either moves up the previous game or back this one; the game’s timeline simply doesn’t run with the show’s well in the first place.
With all due respect to the developers, FBW did contain a few errors. I’m still genuinely annoyed about ‘Pete Thelman’ just because it makes my pseudo-job a lot harder here, as that’s a different character’s name as well. There’s also the reversions with Peter Mullen and Annie Nelson, which sucks cause I preferred TSOT’s handle on that.
Look, I’m fond of the kid. I’m not going to pretend this isn’t a factor.
This is exactly the kind of post I’m trying to avoid making but, uh, thanks for coming to my ted talk.
“I’m back, bitches” So.. he’s alive..

Recent Changes (10.17.18)
Here’s the latest curated edits we felt like sharing.
New Episode Information
The two most recently aired episodes now have fully stocked pages with character lists, cameos, locations, bonus factoids, easter eggs and even a little behind the scenes information from the Live Tweets. We’ve also set up the page for tonight’s brand new episode - if you haven’t already seen the press release, take a peek!
“A Boy and a Priest” (s22e02)
“The Problem With a Poo” (s22e03)
“Tegridy Farms“ (s22e04)
Game Information
The official wiki page for the latest South Park game has been revised to include items from the downloadable content releases this year. We’re still waiting on a big art update for the many new characters we met at Casa Bonita. More updates will probably be needed eventually, including a full game synopsis and more quests, but the character and location sections are largely complete at long last!
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Character Pages
The latest major character revisions based on the first three episodes of the new season:
Harriet Biggle
Officer Stevens
Father Maxi
Mr. Hankey
Vice Principal Strong Woman
Of course, we’re still brushing up older pages to keep them up to date, but a lot of them are still missing crucial new sections such as the new Personality & Traits area.
New Character Art
As with any new season, the South Park Art Department is back on to provide new images for every new episode! Today, we received images for all of the Simpsons characters featured in “The Problem With a Poo“!

We try only to do this infrequently when there’s been multiple expansions, but here’s some recent curated edits:
New Episode Information
Still waiting on the clip, but we have the synopsis based on all available press information and a list of confirmed characters. If you haven’t already seen the press release, take a peek!
“A Boy and a Priest” (s22e02)
In my time with the wiki, I’ve mostly prioritized character pages, but I went back and gave a huge revision for the season premiere, and plan to do so for future episodes this season. As you can see, there’s been some revisions to the format -- this is how we want episode pages to look going forward. Feedback is appreciated.
“Dead Kids“ (s22e01)
Game Information
The official wiki page for the free-to-play mobile game has been revised to include references to Gameplay Mechanics and some upcoming cards. We haven’t received any new card art from the Art Department in a while but I’m hoping it’s coming soon. This isn’t as exhaustive as some of our other recent game updates but it’s a big step ahead.
South Park: Phone Destroyer
Character Pages
There hasn’t been as much movement on this front lately, I’m sorry to report.
Anger Management Therapist
I plan to revise Harriet Biggle and Officer Stevens soon as a result of their speaking roles in “Dead Kids“, and one way or another, Father Maxi will now be on the docket.

Mod John is back on the force again, by the looks of it. He doesn’t know or understand how he’s done it, but he’s doing it. Let’s all thank Nall for ignoring my ill-advised resignation.
