Okay so as those of you who use PayPal are probably aware, PayPal has this new credit card type thing that they’re DESPERATE for people to use.

So I was buying something with Paypal and suddenly mid check out i noticed something that said I was signing up for their credit card, like not asking me if I want to buy it, one click away as if I was about to finish a transaction for it. I scrolled down and saw a “cancel transaction” button, pressed it, and suddenly I was back to my checkout screen. PayPal now has a pop up screen that looks almost identical to their normal checkout screen, which will pop up while you’re mid-transaction and try to trick you into signing up for their credit card. Keep an eye out.

Lance’s Resolve

Can we talk about this moment in “Heart of the Lion” for a sec??

I’ve seen a lot of posts about this scene floating around, specifically about the expression on Lance’s face prior to Red showing up. A good majority have equated it with the expression that Keith had when he was preparing to sacrifice himself at the end of S4:

Thus, the conclusion is that Lance was also sacrificing himself/accepting he was going to die, and that Red arrived on its own to Lance’s surprise. I was onboard with this train of thought too, but after rewatching the episode a few more times, I think there’s a better scene we can use for comparison, since it also revolves around Lance.

In S5E3 aka “Postmortem,” when Lance was training by himself, we saw him get similarly overwhelmed by heavy fire, though not in the same life-or-death kind of way. Compare his expression here:

With the one from “Heart of the Lion” again:

Same energy. And in “Postmortem,” Lance didn’t give up or accept a loss against the training drones. Instead, he fucking evolved. 

This is how Lance operates. He ain’t a quitter. Whenever he’s pinned down, he’s able to focus and let his inner quintessence shine through, allowing him to adapt and become exactly what he needs to be in the moment. I think he did the same thing in “Heart of the Lion” as well. 

There’s a lot of meta guessing that Lance initially couldn’t call for Red because his interaction with Allura caused confusion in his heart (hence the episode title “Heart of the Lion”), and I completely agree.

But in the heat of battle with his sister’s life on the line as well as his, Lance was able to clear his head and finally get his call to Red through.

In summary, Red’s appearance at the last minute was no surprise deus ex machina twist … it was exactly what Lance had expected.
